The problem with minorities in Quebec is a lot larger than that.

They are used to get whatever the f*ck they want. Some jews made a YMCA tint their window because they could see women doing work-out inside. Schools are forced to change their menus if somebody is allergic to something or is in a religion that prohibits them from eating something. The list just goes on.

I think this "Accomodements raisonables" thing as gone way too far (other Quebecers will understand me...).

A friend of a friend is in some arabic country for a school program (can't remember were she is) and guess what? She has to wear a burqa (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Burqa), else she'll be lapidated (sp?). We have to adapt to their culture, why won't they adapt to ours?

Anyway, I think we have made a great step towards religious equality (because for some time, we (catholics, whites, "normal" Quebecers) have felt left out).

It's cultural, not religious, and it's perfectly acceptable to required them to temporarily remove it to prove identity, provided that is the only time they have to.

Don't like the laws?  Go back to your own armpit of a country then.
Who says they're not in their country? You can be a Muslim-Canadian... (it is in Canada, is it not?)

edit: sp
I know.  Then go to a country where it is acceptable to do that.
That would be evicting people out of their own country. That sounds very unfair and unreasonable to me. I'm an atheist, but I definitely think that religion should be respected.
I agree wholeheartedly with kilgoretrout on the idea for a solution.
