Honestly, number two. The first one isn't original enough.
Don't know if it's good or bad that I vote here, but nonetheless, thanks for your comments! Took me a little while working away using a mix of MS Word, Photoshop CS2, and random image searches on google
umm #2 is better for an picture, but realisticly hes going to have to choose number one due to the fact that it is a proper coat of arms, not a high quality image in a badge shape but the 2nd is good for intraweb use

edit: i think i will use the first one for the coat of arms of the academy, and the 2nd for the uniform emblem.
