The base of a pyramid of height 2 m, has an area of 7 m square.

a) What is the volume of the pyramid?
b) What is the capacity in litres?

A) The volume V of any pyramid with height h (in your case 2) and a base with area B(in your case 7) is equal to one-third the product of the height and the area of the base.

B) sorry...cant help ya here...sorry.

unless my math is wrong itd be 4.66666666666666666 (repeated) for the volume

whats the initial descriptor of the volume....i.e pints cups

1cm^3=1 millimeter. accordingly, 1m^3=1 liter.

find the volume to find its liter capacity.

you quite honestly have everything you need to find the volume.

mulitply the area times the height times 1/3, and you will get a cubic answer. (X^3)

this is the same as your liter capacity.

.
Oops, a little correction here. One cubic meter (1m^3) = 1000 liters.

One cubic centimeter (1cm^3) = 0.001 liters.

This is the formula to obtain the volume of a piramid: Area of the base X height of the piramid X 1/3

If the piramid is mesured in meters, the result will be in X cubic meters (m^3). Multiply that result by 1000 and you'll have the volume in liters.

yes 1dm³ = 1 liter so 1m³ = 1000 litres.

Volume Pyramid = 1/3*square area*height

So volume = 4.6666m³ and capacity = 4666 liter

Where did he say he didn't?
