Ok, I didn't read any of the other posts so if my method was already posted, sorry.

First, you will need daemon tools as many other people said.  Once you have daemon tools installed, follow this link to download a mini-disk image of BF2.  This is perfectly legal if you own a copy of the game.

http://megagames.com/cgi/download/downl … CKUPCD.ZIP

once downloaded, unzip it.  Then, when you are in daemon, right click on the icon in the taskbar and go to emulation, and click select all.  Now, right click on the icon again and go to Virtual cd/dvd rom and select mount image.  Go to the directory that you unzipped it to, and select the file (you should only see 1 of the 2 that were unzipped) and mount the image.

You can now play w/o a disk!

I got it to work, thanks! however, does anyone notice the slightest bit more of lag without the discs? or are they completely unrelated?

Does the same process work for other games? such as sf on that site?

I don't think it is related to lag.

The Virtual drives do not load up upon startup of the computer? Is there a way to fix that? Thanks.

more lag because ur pc is using ur hard drive to run the process, in doing so more workload is needed.
if you use the disk ur framework or the game is ran from the CD

Thanks, so is there a way to reduce that? More ram? etc...?

I don't think BF2 really uses the CD to run. It just checks it at the start (and maybe again later) to make sure you've got the CD.

It could've just been the server, but more importantly, the drives don't remount even with the checked box.

I tried to explain it.  Once you have daemon tools installed, go to
http://m0001.gamecopyworld.com/games/pc_battlefield_2.shtml

then scroll down and click on the
"Battlefield 2 [ALL] No-DVD/Fixed Image #3" and download that by clicking on the file archive button. Save it to your desktop.  When its done, open Daemon Tools and right click on the icon in your systray.  Turn all types of emulation on and set number of drives to 1.  Then, put your cursor over the drive you mounted (still by right cliking on the Daemon icon in systray and going to devices and mount the file that you installed to your desktop.

You should be able to play with no disk  now
Yeah I know how to do it, I just dont know what will happen regarding PB if I use NO CD via daemon tools. I just want to know that its not going to ban me.
Exactly, that's why I'm not using Daemon Tools either, I'm afraid it's gunna ban me. I'm downloading Alcohol 120%
I've used DeamonTools for a year and never had any problems, PB never complained. I'm using a 1:1 copy of the DVD, not a mini image.

Just one more thing, on daemon tools, is it normal for it to show the windows of the files of the virtual discs upon loadup?

Grow a pair and create your own mini-image of BF2 using alcohol120. Then again if you have linux on one machine you can simply use dd...
