I think it's a positive thing. How can we expect a nation like Palestine to act responsibly on the global stage if we keep treating them like terrorist outsiders. I remember the days when any Republican politician that came anywhere near power in the North was immediately demonised as a 'terrorist' or 'supporter of terrorism', no matter how much democratic support he/she had. What's the alternative? Keep them oppressed as a disenfranchised people and just keep adding more fuel to the extremists fires?

Israel are hypocritical as usual; they are also the perpetrators of State terror and collective punishment and yet they expect full recognition from the international community.

Remember the land of Palestine used to encompass Israel too!! So technically all those people who live their are "Palestinians".

Palestina was the name the greeks gave to those people/lands over there. . . Now just those who seem to live in Gaza strip seem to be labled that term.

You do realise the Gaza strip only makes up a small part of Palestine, a part that is under Israeli occupation, despite the fact that they have committed to withdraw from Gaza sometime ago.

Also, it was the Romans, not the Greeks, who named the region Syria Palestina. This was actually a bit off a joke at the expense of the Jews, Palestine being a corruption of Phillistine.

Israelis who could be called Palestinians would only be those who were born there prior to 1947. Which is probably not that great a number.

Right, the Romans called it Palestina and the Greeks called it Phillistine I stand corrected. . . .

We agree, technically ALL those who live over there are "Palestinians". . .

If we want peace over there, the Israeli's need to stop bulldozing the Gaza strip, and the Palestinians need to stop blowing up suicide bombers in Israeli cities!! Easier said than done I'm afraid. . . .

Its aweful!! One of my good buddies is a Palestinian, his uncle was run over in Gaza by a jeep with 3 Israeli soldiers in it. . . They had been at a bar previously apparently (bystanders saw that the soldiers had been drinking prior to getting in the jeep). His uncle was crossing the street at about 11pm I guess, and the soldiers came barreling down the small street and drilled him. . .What did the Israeli government do to compensate or anything for that matter???

They wrote a message to his aunt saying that Israeli troops operate in the area, and that he shouldnt have been in the street at that moment. . . Nice public relations Israel!!!

Its this kind of bullshit that keeps that conflict marching on. . . . sad, sad state of affairs over there!!
