you know what the funny thing is about all this?
when i go down, i have to pick myself up, dust myself off and try again. i dont get to make some sad ass emo music video to spark sympathy.
when some people go down, they stay down....and dont get back up until someone comes along and holds their hand and tells them everything will be ok. and that they dont have to work to rebuild anything, hell we will give it to them cause they had a run of bad luck......i wish more people could pick themselves up.

I think despite the years of warning the people of LA felt untouchable perhaps. I don't think New Orleans was even given a 24 hour notice to get out. That has comes from the Governor/Mayor. Most of those area's were so impoverished that finding away to move them was hopeless by the time they made the decision.

SEREMAKER the Clinton administration did not cease to fund the levies. I don't know where you got that. The problem was they (The state) were using the funding for other projects. They were voting down tax increases and pulling funds from the money devoted to the levies.
hmmmmmmmmmmm give a few mins to wind through the enourmous paperwork here then I'll try to find where I read about Clinton, the Army Corps and the levies - it was something about that they havn't been worked on since the 60's ( I think) and the funds ceased on a mutual decison between state and federal
Good luck, the federal government has never completely cut funding.

Lol your such a sheep liberal. Thats exactly the response i expected! The problem with you commies is that you see whats on the media, and see a mistake happen in the world, and blame it on the administration. Its immature and very bad for this country.

Liberals: Sit on there asses and complain.
Republicans: Get up and do something helpful about it.

I can excuse one two major even more minor mistakes.  I've listed several major mistakes.  Let alone the number of administration officials that have either left or forced to step down.  Please.

I'm offering a revolution.  The people of this country need to unite and get rid of this political haggling.  My party is better than yours.  The people are the ones suffering, not the politicians

O RLY?
You STILL haven't offered a solution to ANY of these so called 'mistakes'
Neither have any of your parties polititions, they just go with the media because it makes them popular. Republicans are the only ones that think for themselves and flow against the backwards media and tell it like it is, not how CNN tells it...

Sure, the same race who stood united and said the government doeasnt care about them. So the National Guardsmen, Marine Reservists, Coast Guard dont work for the govenment? I do recall a video of these brave women and men dangling from a rope on a helicopter to save hurricane victims. Hurricanes come through that region every year. Those levies have been fucked since the stupid French decided below sea level was an ideal location for a coastal city. It was a matter of time before this happened and you can blame this administration as much as you want for how the aftermath was handled, but dont tell me for every person who needs help down there that there isnt a fellow citizen trying to exploit them. These people went through a tragedy for God's sake and you have fellow citizens robbing and looting. Forget about being from New Orleans for a minute. Forget you are even American or English speaking. Be a fucking world citizen and help eachother. Be a human with compassion and reason, not some fucking animal. Oh wait thats right. We need someone to blame. Little girly ass cowards rob and loot in a time of crisis. People who create and socially sustain these cowards are the ones who justify and excuse their behavior. So dont worry about the government who gave $20,000 debit cards to over 27,000 victims, which by the way, can you guess the most popular item purchased on that card for the first six months after the cards were issued???? 20" rims. Twenty inch fucking rims!!!!!!!! Lets all have a look in the mirror, or for those of you fortunate enough, look into your 20' of chrome.

Dezerteagal5...

Just because the opposition don't offer a fantastic alternative it doesn't make the Republicans Knights in shining armour. Also the Republicans initiated a lot of the messy problems the United States are experiencing and now the Democrats have the Senate and have to start a clear up operation Republican supporters try and shift the blame. It's like the republicans start the Iraq war, piss everyone off with it until the Democrats get some power back and when the Democrats respond by scaling back the war effort the Republicans try and paint the Democrats as the guys who lost the war.

They're both pretty useless.

It was an ideal location at the time. Perfect in fact. I don't think they were planning on a million people to be living there when it was founded.

There were far more people trying to help each other than looting. Regardless of color or social status. The media thrives on panic and they made it a point to show the worst of the chaos while ignoring the unity.

True. Same with the tsunami in the far East, the media figured the controversial shots of the locals burning the bodies would sell more papers and get more viewers than any of the helping/rebuilding.
