Outing of CIA agents
Firing 8 judges without warrant
Restricting Scientist from interviews on Global Warming

Allowing border agents to be prosecuted and paying off the accuser a convicted drug dealer

I'm sure there is more you all can add.  However I look at these alone and think,WTF.  There is a prevailing scent of BS surrounding this administration.  Coupled with the lack of faith of the American people.  Since there is no avenue to pursue to get him out of office without him committing a crime, which in my mind he has committed a crime to the American people.  What can we do.

I would love to see a "No Confidence" vote like the British HOC has.

I honestly don't think there is anything we can do. Americas no longer for the people by the people. It's for corporate interests by corporations. Democrat and Republican alike.

I honestly think we need another revolution.

I think he's criticizing  how they handled Katrina, not implying that they caused the hurricane its self

Absolutely.  They have still failed to handle the aftermath.

I saw all kinds of people in India helping rebuild after the earhtquake.  All I saw in New Orleans was people sitting around and waiting for help.

I have two nephews that were putting blue plastic on roofs for two months.  Helping their neighbors.  They told me of a firehouse that lost their engine in the storm.  The Fed never sent them one.  They got one from another firehouse in the Mid West who gave them their old one.

You will also see several trailers sitting outside of town waiting for occupants.  Did we all forget about that fiasco?

I guess my point here is this country ready for a revolution?  I agree with the description above on corporations.  It's time America stood up for what it was truly founded on.  For the people by the people.

I think you failed to notice that most of the people rebuilding in India had nice shiny white non-Indian skin.... not to detract from those affected that obviously did pitch in. You seem to be awfully dismissive of the people of New Orleans. Were you there? What did you expect them to do? Suck the water up into their bellies???? That's a blatant insult you just hurled at your fellow New Orleans countrymen who sweat blood and tears to fix the mess they were in. I think you might owe them an apology....

FEMA is not a first response agency in the first place. Local and state government were the most responsible for getting people out of harms way, as well as the levies.

katrina destroyed oil assets in the gulf, i know that for a fact. im not sure whether they had to divert shipments elsewhere while new orleans was down....ill have to look into that.
one of the reasons for our high gas prices right now are because of all the platforms that were damaged in the gulf, in fact one was completely wiped off the ocean.....last i heard they still hadnt found the platform....just another reason NOT to work on a platform.

Oil was sky high before Katrina. The reason for high oil prices is simple. You are being raped by oil executives. Thier record breaking profits prove that. Katrina had nothing to do with it though oil platforms were lost there. The price remained the same. High as hell.

Not to mention the local corrupt leaders who were stealing money for years that should have been spent on things like levies and evacuation plans.

You'd think that because the evil Bush administration lied to go to war to get all of the oil in Iraq (which they're doing such a good job of now), they'd be rushing to get New Orleans, a major import and refining hub for petroleum, back on line...

If Nagin had not done stupid stuff like let hundreds of school buses just get flooded rather than be put to use, then perhaps the condemnation of Bush would be more well-placed. The federal government could have responded quicker, but the majority of the blame lays on the state and especially local government. All this nonsense about how Bush let the black people drown in New Orleans is just that, nonsense.

i used to work for a guy that spent 30 years offshore and still has many connections. we had an extremely long talk about oil prices being impacted by the loss of platforms.
i know those fat fuckers are robbing me blind every time i go to the gas station, but the fact is we lost those platforms and it means less oil which drives up prices. the market fluctuates and the smallest bullshit will throw it in their favor...

Also it was during the Clinton Adminstration that ceased funding on the levies - Now since Nagin is in charge of overseeing the city and the Gov (can't remember her name) is in charge of the state, 1 of them should have gotten on the horn to washington long before Katrina hit and reminded someone that they need the funding to finish

and also I can't believe Nagin got relected

I was there during the aftermath. I have a friend that works for Florida power (Electric company) and they sent allot of help that way. They were working 18 hours at a time. I went down there for two weeks to help. The federal response was very slow, but the preparing was an even bigger disgrace. Logistically it was hard just to get to the people that needed help. I am sure you guys saw the boats driving down the streets. Those guys were busting their ass to get to them. That's why I can't help but think the majority of the death came from a lack of transporting them. People were stuck in their attic with no food for weeks. Here in Florida anytime there is a hint of a hurricane we immediately begin planning evac routes and stationing trucks full of water strategically through the state. I think despite the years of warning the people of LA felt untouchable perhaps. I don't think New Orleans was even given a 24 hour notice to get out. That has comes from the Governor/Mayor. Most of those area's were so impoverished that finding away to move them was hopeless by the time they made the decision.

SEREMAKER the Clinton administration did not cease to fund the levies. I don't know where you got that. The problem was they (The state) were using the funding for other projects. They were voting down tax increases and pulling funds from the money devoted to the levies.

Also to the OP, Port Security was never for sale.

"Nothing in this acquisition has anything to do with the responsibility for security in American ports," State Department spokesman Adam Ereli said. "That remains very firmly in the hands of the Department of Homeland Security. What we're talking about is the management of some port operations."

hmmmmmmmmmmm give a few mins to wind through the enourmous paperwork here then I'll try to find where I read about Clinton, the Army Corps and the levies - it was something about that they havn't been worked on since the 60's ( I think) and the funds ceased on a mutual decison between state and federal
