Simple as this. My TV broke down two years ago and i still haven't bought a new one and i don't intend to do so either since i find my life so much better without it. More time to do other things, no stupid commercials, soap documentarys or other useless programs.

I want to know if i'm the only one at this forum not to own a TV?

Yep, HD. Fiber optic TV (much cheaper than Com "Fuck Our Customers" cast) + DVR = pretty damn good. 24 in HD just rocks.

Although I do agree about commercials. I don't give a shit about the AARP medicare supplement, or some barbie ad. Every once in a while there's a good commercial, but the majority of them are fucking worthless.

It's a pretty good argument someone brought up in PC Mag in one issue. He said he had antenna TV because he thinks cable's a ripoff. Sure the quality's better, but it costs money for only a handful of channels you'll actually watch + advertisements off the roof.

Sometimes when i go to friends to watch a movie the commercial breaks annoys the hell out of me. They destroy the film experience totally. Don't you agree on this?

Yeh I do, I don't use it watching TV much though. It's basically an alarm clock in the morning as it has a timer to turn it on, and i use it for my PS2, Wii, DVDs etc.

Maybe I should buy a 4K flat screen, use it souly as an alarm clock.

Eh, I wouldn't call myself materialist. I watch lots of TV, might as well have a good experience doing it right?

And yeah, interruptions while watching a movie blow. But any movie channel worth their weight in subscription premiums should have uninterrupted presentations. HBO, CineMAX, Starz, etc.

Voted no, because even though I technically DO have a TV, it isn't hooked up to cable. I just use it for my PS2. I never watch TV.

I have two. One 32 inch, and a smaller 20 something inch in my bedroom. I do not watch TV that much. If it was not for needing it for import stuff, like the news, or watching a few tv series, or my consoles, I would not have one. My wife is the TVholic in the house.

Currently, yes.

But have only just recently got a new (well, 2nd hand) TV to replace our broken TV. So from maybe a year or two ago to just recently the answer would have been "yes, but it doesn't work".

And now we do have a working TV again I don't really watch it that much - Channel 4 News most days, the odd documentary here and there and that's about it. Most TV is just rubbish.
