The Family Guy is getting sued as stated in the above article.

My point of debate is this:

We have lived through so many battles like this due to southpark. When is satire crossing the line? Is this humor all ultimitely shielded by freedom of speech?

Is Carol Burnett the butt here for suing, or is FOX the butt for allowing the lampoon based on Burnett not playing ball with TheFamilyGuy?

Carol Burnett is hardly current pop culture. I would bet over half of family guys viewers and probably half the people on this site don't know who the hell she is. I'll have to see the show in question but like ATG said, she hasn't been around for soooo looong, how could FOX be damaging her rep or career in any way?

Other than that, if this is retaliation for her not letting them use her stuff, thats shitty on FOX's part.

I agree though. She should laugh it off rather than blow it out of proportion.

I have no idea who many of the people on Family Guy are. They use pop culture from so long ago, and alot of the people weren't even that famous even back then. But alot of the stuff is funny.

Back on topic this is retarded. If we cannot spoof people in pop culture than what is the point of having pop culture? It just makes everything bland if you cannot spoof someone without getting sued. It would set a bad president if Carrol wins.
