I think he's referring to Britain's occupation of Palestine and the subsequent process of settling Jews there.  That really is the beginning of the problem.  Granted, what you mentioned is the more relevant case of today's politics.
I'm well aware of what he's refering to. I just think he's wrong. The US were the driving force behind the establishment of the state of Israel.
How did America influence this back in the 1800s?
They didn't. They influenced it throughout the league of nations meetings and Truman's backing of Israel moments after they declared themselves a state (a course of action which they had been advised to take by the US).

What do the 1800s have to do with this? The 1920s, '30s and '40s are the crucial periods.
The first Aliyah began in 1881, but that was on a relatively small scale.

I mentioned the 1800s because things would have turned out very differently if the British hadn't occupied a large part of the Middle East to begin with.

Granted, I see what you mean by Truman's actions.

It doesn't matter who started this.  What is important is the fact that US wants to help and Israel doesn't.  As always Israel is showing its intolerance and oppressive attitude.  They should get the message, US won't be always there to support their fuck ups.

Maybe if Hamas changed their charter to suggest the destruction of Israel being a priority...
I dunno, the Muslims are pretty fucking intolerant.

US won't talk with Hamas.  Hamas is part of the problem.  But let me ask you something.
If you aren't a Lakers fan and they play with the Clippers, who do you want to win?

I know it must feel bad to have the blame for all this junk, but face it.  It wasn't American land they settled on, it was YOUR land.  It wasn't us who gave them nukes, it was YOU who gave them nukes.  You can talk about money and support and that other crap all you want, but when it comes down to it America didn't give the Israelis the land or even buy it for them.... that was all you.  And America didn't proliferate nukes to them (we were opposed if my memory serves) it was all you (unless you count the fact that we proliferated nukes to you, in which case i suppose that is our fault).

You clearly don't understand the situation very well, which is understandable since it was very complex.

The nuclear stuff, fair enough (the nuclear deal between the US and the UK was more of a trade anyway, VX gas for nukes). But the establishment of Israel as a state is the fault of the US. The British had an opportunity to prevent it and did take steps to do just that, but failled/gave up.
