I want to gauge opinion and open a debate comparing the options listed in the poll above.
Poll
Which is more important to you?
The Economy | 40% | 40% - 20 | ||||
Climate Change | 34% | 34% - 17 | ||||
Terrorism | 26% | 26% - 13 | ||||
Total: 50 |
Climate change....I like the climate we have now.
Climate change, but I'm getting to the point where I'm losing care in all 3.
I think I'm confused as to the exact nature of the question. Fighting terrorism is the most important to me but I don't think terrorism is the biggest threat. Oxygen is important to me as well but I don't think I am going to run out of it anytime soon. The Economy is doing fine despite a couple nasty showings at the stock market. Climate change is very important since there is a concentrated effort to diminish scientific fact. It also is something that will take a long time to change course.

I voted the economy.CameronPoe wrote:

With a universally good economy, there would be more peace on Earth.
We can address pollution without letting global warming become a boondoggle.
Climate change is a joke, nothing can be done in our lifetimes to change it, it's already too late.
Now that it's too late, politicians say that they are interested about it when they aren't, they just flip-flop and will screw our social laws (in Europe). This is why I chose economy, because it's the only one that can be changed of the three. There will always be terrorists, the climate will change naturally but economy can solve both of them, if people have jobs and are happy with it they aren't going to blow themselves up. Climate change wouldn't have happened if the economy was dealt in a better way.

Something tells me alternative fuel systems is probably a better bet -- AC units with alternative fuels EVEN BETTER investment option.
Economy for sure. Would you really rather have your tax dollars go towards a war or health care?
The answer is obvious.
The answer is obvious.
I mean no disrespect but it's very telling about people that they respond to climate change prioritizing money above the planet. Both are important obviously and one must balance the two but my primary concern wouldn't be the money aspect - the continued functioning of our economies and civilizations are dependent on the well-being of the planet we inhabit.
I chose the economy, when the earth's climate totally, drastically alters, it will probably be after I die. Though terrorism might kill me before my time, thus not able to take advantage of being part of a good, booming economy. hmmmm....we are in pickle here.
True, that anonymous Karma would be my agreement.CameronPoe wrote:

Dont really have to vote economy over climate change or the other way around, making the nessesary steps to turn the climate change around will be good economy in the end ....
Wait behind the line ..............................................................
Climate change will ruin the economy.
In what way, if we try to change it back or if we ignore it ?sergeriver wrote:

Goody, ìts way cheaper to try to do something about it now rather than wait until its to late !sergeriver wrote:

Frequent flyer Gore visited Norway this week and gave his speach in several cities and stated that Norway was heading in the right direction witch makes me kinda proud, but then again we have the money to spend on reducing climate changing gases ..... that`s not the case for some other countries unfortunately

In the immediate short term (next 10 years) I think an international crackdown on terrorism should be our main priority. In the long term (10-50 years) I think we should be worrying about climate change and replacing gasoline with batteries, hydrogen fuel, whatever, as well as using more solar and wind powered plants for electricity.
So half terrorism, half clime change. The economy isn't perfect, but there are much more important things at stake.

the economy, its the only one that seriously affects me
i mean how can i give to charity (to help victims of terrorist attacks and the like) or afford insulation (and any other number of green items) if the economy collpases, you need the first one to sort the other two out so its the most important

the climate cahnge because if the climate changes to much the world will be over!
I'd rather be poor than dead. As for climate change, with China bringing another coal-powered electricity generating station online every week, there's fuck all I can do about it.
So in order of importance:
1) Terrorism
2) Economy
3) Climate change.
