PKM aim

Everyone claims that PKM is the best support weapon and perhaps best weapon in the game. Well I unlocked it and was disappointed. Whenever I zoom and fire at an enemy not far away, it seems I'm firing blanks. He doesn't even twitch. So what's the secret to that gun? Is there a special way to use the zoomed crosshair?
In a usual combat with PKM, I see the enemy, lie down, zoom. I try shooting above the enemy but no luck, if I aim under, the bullets hit the ground. If i aim at the enemy exactly the bullets seem to go over him...

Can anyone give some tips in aiming with PKM?

Single shot or short bursts. Don't go full auto.

B. PKM is better with close distance passive fighting. Let the enemy come to you. Dont chase the enemy down. Sit behind a corner. aim for a doorway. But be close enough that you can hit them. To aim, put their head right on top of the middle bar.

Use the Normal supoort guns.. they are all better then that POS people call PKM.

Tips? Use the RPK.

prone, single shot spam Everything. I zoom only because i've used ironsites since bf1942, i find it helps though.

as with any LMG fire in short bursts, always go prone and "hover" your sight picture over the enemy.
BF2 randomizes all the shots to an extent, so your aim will never be "true".
be patient and fire from cover....with support if you are trying to kill, dont fire until you know you will kill them.
you should be trying to lay suppressive fire for your team to move in and cap the flag or whatever the objective is, NOT kill every motherfucker that breathes.
try looking through the guides, some great stuff in there.

The PKM is damn accurate, trust me !

Prone and shoots in 1-2 rounds burst, not more. In a spray, the third round is already inacurate. The PKM does most damage by shot than any other automatic gun so you only need 3 shots in the torso for a kill. So go prone immediatly, fire 1-2 shots and you will get kills after a bit of practice, trust me.

Here's what you do:

1) get more points
2) rank up again
3) unlock MG36 (the ACTUAL best weapon in the game)
4) 3-4 round bursts while prone with MG36 = kill
5) masturbate to pictures of MG36 at night

PKM is better, but I admit, its hard to use at first, you have to learn how it works. Its "behaviour" is actually a bit different from the other weapons.

At a distance..yeh...burst...but i use it standing for close range, no zoom, just spray, it must have some big-ass bullets cause they go down real quick at close range....

Thanks for the tips guys. I realize my main mistake is that when I see an enemy, I press the trigger and keep firing until it heats up! Bad idea...

However, my main question was where to aim when you are zoomed in PKM?

Where exactly should the enemy be? Right in the middle, slightly higher or lower of crosshair? I tried all of them but I keep missing.

First, get rid of the hack (those crosshairs make it obvious, and why did you blank out something). Second, you probably can't aim without it, so go back to runescape.

LOL. First, it's not my screen shot. I got it from secretsofbattlefield.com It said SECRETSOFBATTLEFIELD that i blanked out so that i am not advertising anything. I have no idea why tickets are high and the crosshair line is that so someone would give a suggestion as to aim higher or lower from that line.

I'm sorry I said that you hacked, but you did not have to blank out secretsofbattlefield or whatever, that gave people some suspicion of something. Anyway, just shoot a millimeter or less above the line.

The red thing is true centre. So I'm gonna try aiming to the left see if it helps

Because of the faster ROF, the M249, Type 95 (and to a lesser degree, the RPK) will all kill a full health soldier (armoured or unarmoured) faster than the PKM or the terrible MG36 (which takes 0.6 of a second to kill an armoured, assuming all shots hit fully auto, compared to .47 of a second for the M249/T95).
