I believe that the problem lies with the employers that provide jobs to illegals. There needs to be a very high penalty for those who hire these law breakers. I mean, it's simple logic, no jobs = no reason to run across the border.

Now I'd like to take the time to give a big "FUCK YOU!" to any company that puts out advertising, or anything for that matter, in Spanish. Why the fuck would someone go through the trouble of learning another language when they aren't inconvenienced in any way whatsoever.

This shit pisses me off so fucking much 'cause I'm around these people every day. "Hey look, new neighbors! I think I'll go over and introduce myself." Turns out they don't know any english and they just look at me with a blank stare. I go to any fast-food place in phoenix, and what do I get? Some non-english speaking dumbfuck that destroys my order despite me repeating it numerous times because they can't comprehend shit. I also get the same crap at work. I work at a distribution wharehouse and half of the new hires look/act like they just crossed the border.

I think I need to move far north from this shit-hole called Phoenix(Az).

OK the problem isn't with the Illegal Aliens at all. The problem is with the system that we have in place, it's probably cheaper for ATG to hire an illegal alien at a decent wage then to hire an American Citizen at a cheaper wage.

Our system of Income tax is broke, you take away the benifit for hiring Illegals then you take away the reason for them. There are a few ways of doing this, a flat tax in place of an income tax, also a socialized health care system..
Would you like a job? Would you like me to scan payroll reports to show what I am paying?

Please Capt, read the thread before you post, otherwise you are just asking for it, and I like you.
I think I read most of it...

What I"m saying is that if you take away the benifit to the employer and to the Illegals you'd solve the problem.

I wish it were that simple. Also understand that it is not only the job market that entices people to immigrate illegally. Babies borne here are citizens and are able to benefit on things such as welfare and our medical system (No one is turned away at an emergency room). It should also be noted that the United States is one of a few country's that does not have an "official" language. This is not to say I don't agree with you, but it does explain why these companies have no problem soliciting to customers in other languages..

For your top guys.  But shouldn't you be paying them over $50K a year, per your original comment on what they used to make?

Hey dumbass, I installed those gutters. I have 21 years experience and have jobs in three states.
You call me unskilled, I call you ignorant.
So, you've spent 21 years intalling gutters, and you're implying that I have a lack of education....

Look, having a steady job and a successful business are good things, but Julio can only go so far up the employment chain in terms of skill and career access, so if your job is on the level where you're competing with someone that fled a third world country out of desperation, then I'd say that your skill level is the issue.  You may be good at what you do, but more people would be doing jobs above the threat of illegal labor if they had the education necessary to do highly skilled jobs that Julio wouldn't have access to.

Hence, while I support better border security, I also support revolutionizing the education system to give more legal citizens better access to technical education and make illegal labor somewhat of a non-issue with regards to employment.

Besides, you hire illegals, so what is the point of your anguish over this matter?  If you feel so strongly about this, hire legal citizens.

How many doctors, lawyers and loan processors can there be?  My trade is considered as much art as anything and requires years of training to master. Anybody can throw shit up.  I get paid  a lot of money to do what I do, it requires skill, organization and business savy to be known nationwide, like I am. I have customers for my product in almost every state. Illegal aliens do not have licenses or insurance so they are not a threat on larger projects. Most don't have the facilities to capitalize on the www.

So great, I'me for solving the education system too, but what about NOW? What about 10-30 million illegal aliens here NOW with no savings, no licenses and no plan?

We need to begin deportations and seal the border. Do that, have real id and I will support cracking down on employers. Token busts mean shit. If the government lets things go enough sooner or later somebody will start shooting.
Your answer seems to be, when the illegal aliens take over a trade you best go back to school. You assume they only work in low tech fields and you assume wrong.

With out a secure border, there is no proper civic planning, no fair requirements for business people, and a bullshit double-standard system that actually favors the illegal who sends most profit back to Mexico anyways.

Failure to secure our borders is treasonous: punishing individual citizen employers who are overwhelmed by this is grounds for civil war.

Very true, but it sounds like you just proved that illegal labor doesn't really affect your work then.

While I agree with the deportation ideas and better securing the border, I also have to wonder....  If third world labor is capable of working in higher skilled jobs, then what's the problem, as long as they are working?  We just need to make sure the money is on the books, which means forcing businesses to document workers, hence the guest worker idea.  If Julio has been working hard in America for the last 5 years without any legal violations other than entering illegally, why not give him a way to be part of the system?  I'm all for deporting drug smugglers and other serious criminals among the illegal immigrants, but if they're just hard workers, then why not give them a way to move toward citizenship?

Employers should be held accountable for their actions just like illegals.  Then again, if we give current illegals a guest worker system to enter, then the employers basically get a free pass too.

Civic planning is problematic in more than just cases of illegal immigration.  We've seen cities like Dallas expand unsustainably even aside from the illegal immigration present there.  This American hunger for growth at all costs is more cultural in its nature than being purely a result of illegals sneaking in.

The real estate industry is more than happy to house illegals as long as they're getting paid.  My city is a perfect example.  Greensboro is growing rather quickly for its size, and developers put up housing faster than the local infrastructure can handle it.  We're having to buy drinking water supplies from nearby communities just so that public amenities can match the growth of the population.  Local government doesn't want to do anything about it because developers have a lot of financial pull on the officials.  If a politician threatens to regulate zoning further, he can pretty much assume he won't be re-elected, because his opponent will receive most of the funds he used to get by the next election.

Basically, greed outpaces common sense and fiscal accountability in this country.
