Reading all the Voss vs Krylov vs Lambert vs Baur threads I see there are a fair amount of the members here who swear by the Baur. How do you stay alive in close quarters with a slower rate of fire, higher deviation on full auto, and a smaller clip? I know the Baur is more powerful, but I have not been successful running and gunning with it. I used to use the Baur, but I kept dying to enemies with Voss and Lambert in firefights around flags and silos. Finding myself with no ammo or having to reload too often equals more deaths for me, which is why I stay alive longer with the Voss. Usually I’m squad leader and I lay down a beacon and charge into the fray with my squad. At longer ranges, I do miss the Baur. Care to share any thoughts Baur fans?
voss ftw!!!
*edit but the baur is very good at lonhg ranges, i like it but in close quarters i suck

If you know you will fight allot in close combat then Krylov/Voss is superior with the higher rate of fire lesser recoil together with larger clips. However medium to long distane Bauer is better. Krylov does work great over distances though because of the minimal recoil it´s devastating in singleshot mode.
But as said before choose the gun your most comfortable with if you don´t like the gun your most likely gonna die with it.

I like the Baur for all ranges, I'm not sure why, but I really hate using anything else. It's gotten to the point where im ~500 in the world with it, so I figure I should maintain that to keep my E-Peen big.
In CQC never, ever shoot when your moving, you'll have a better chance stopping and throwing grenades at them. Just stop and pop, then run away. I like to reload after every kill, or anytime I drop below 15 shots.

Erm. Well im CQC, most players panic, and go full spray and pay, if you actually think about it, just line te baur up on the enemys torso/head, and let off 3 round bursts, you should be fine winning most CQC encounters

What about when you encounter 3+ guys at a flag or silo? With the Voss I have enough ammo for all of them up close, but if I used the Baur, I'd be reloading and with three guys with faster rate of fire, I'd be toast. Guess tossing a nade would help, but I don't always have a nade handy if I've used them already.
Pistols work wonders if you surprise the enemy, put the Baur in single shot mode and line up every shot, or rocket the silo from afar

When facing any experienced players be lucky if you get three shots off with the Bauer better make them count, most important is reflexes especially if your wielding a Bauer in close ups if you miss one shot you should be dead.fatherted13 wrote:

True, but if you don't panic, the Baurs extreme accuracy, even when stood up, and its superior damage per round should win the fight for ya. Failing that, pull a blademadmurre wrote:

Also, when you're at medium short ranges (but not quite CQC) try not to put the Baur on single shot, try doing three shot bursts. If you've noticed, the deviation on the baur is mostly up from the crosshair. So if you aim at the torso and let off a three shot burst the recoil should take you up to his head area, even if it isn't the bullet deviation should still hit them somewhere higher then the crosshair. And because you're shooting in bursts, you miss less.
i have already unlocked the Baur Heavy assault rifle.. i love it almost as the zeller H sniper rifle. i can live with a 20 round clip but i think the recoil is just too much for my taste. when i zoom with the scope and shoot the damn gun shakes just as much as a Shakira booty shaking concert.
i have beaten people at close range with a baur when they had lambert or voss. the key trick to using the baur in long or close ranges is to shoot it at bursts. three rounds must go off for every thime you press the trigger. the baur is not a spray and pray rifle, leave that to the crambert and voss.
the voss/ lambert seems to have the same popularity as the G36E for the medic kit of BF2.
the baur has one of the most accurate single shot modes of any assault rifle.. i use to blast people back to mommie when i played Bf2 with the AK-101 in SS mode.
since i am exclusively a recon player. i like using the lambert carbine over the voss. yeah the voss has 10 more rounds to it. but the lambert has a insane rate of fire, much like a gatling gun.
but thats my take, i dont care if you are using a voss, lambert, krylov, baur, ill bring my heavily modified , custom made Zeller Hypervelocity ( Im guessing that is what H means) Advanced Sniper rifle to the battlefield anyday. i hate being blasted at close range with those assault rifles, so ill take out anyone from long range.

First of all, the Bauer shoots at like 600rpm iirc, and the voss shoots ~ 800. The Voss does a little better than half the damage as the Bauer to the torso, so consider that you need about a third more time to do the same damage as the Bauer. Most full health soldiers go down in 5-6 shots with the Voss, most go down in 3-4 with the Bauer. Bauer has the time/damage advantage, if you can make your shots count, especially in CQB.Stingray24 wrote:

How about trying the Herzog as an CQC alternative to the rockets?Stingray24 wrote:

Try tossing a grenade or rocket the flag if you are 20+ feet away.Stingray24 wrote:
