- How to correctly debate with someone who is a religious extremist?
Your thought pattern makes no sense.
First you declare Christian beliefs to be one thing.
Then I point out that they're something else.
Then you use your experience to paint a broad generalisation.
When I point this out, you give me some crap about brainwashing.
Yet apparently it wasn't you that was brainwashed.

No, I never bought into the crap. I got in trouble a lot for questioning the nuns and priests.
I can disprove scientology. Then again, so can a fifth grader.djphetal wrote:

In my life, I know alot people that are religious, but whenever I attempt to approach them with this topic, they simply will not listen to anyone else and believe everyone is wrong but themselves. My question is, how do you approach these people to get them to listen and not resort to very loud arguing?

As an afterthought, I know a lot of people that are not religious. But whenever someone (I'm not a missionary) attempts to approach them with this topic, they simply will not listen to anyone else and believe everyone but themselves are wrong.d4rkst4r wrote:

My conclusion is that this confidence in one's absolute knowledge of things to the point of insufferable arrogance seems to be more of a human problem than anything grounded in faith or lack thereof.
Agreed.unnamednewbie13 wrote:
