Hello everyone and a Happy New Year to all of you.

Today we have some big announcements that we’re excited to share with you! First of all, news about 2 new booster packs that will expand the battlefields of Battlefield 2: Battlefield 2: Euro Force and Battlefield 2: Armored Fury.

Euro Force will be released on February 8th and sees the introduction of the all-new European Army in 3 new maps. Each Euro soldier will come equipped with a new primary weapon, from the FNP90 to the Benelli Tactical Shotgun. There will also be 4 new vehicles, including the (in)famous Eurofighter.

The 3 maps are “Operation Smoke Screen”, “The Great Wall of China” and “Taraba Quarry”.

Armored Fury will be released on March 28th and the focus is on large mechanized battles, harking back to the El Alamein style maps on BF1942. There will be 3 new maps – “Midnight Sun”, “Operation Harvest” and “Operation Road Rage” – but also 2 new vehicle classes. Attack Jets and Recon Helicopters, which can spot nearby enemy units, will make their debut.

Both packs will be available exclusively online at downloader.ea.com at £5.99 in the UK.

As well as these booster packs, we are of course still utterly devoted to providing updates to Battlefield 2. We can’t say it enough; thank you all for your support and dedication! Update 1.2 is currently undergoing public beta testing and will be released very soon. As with the first list, this second list includes confirmed fixes only:

• Server search filters now work properly

• All mines (Claymore, Anti-vehicle, C4) can now be picked up by the same class that dropped it by using the “G” key.

• Mines can no longer be destroyed with other explosives

• Flash bang effect radius decreased

• Added unlocks for Sniper and AT kits

• Fixed a bug in terrain rendering with night vision, whereby terrain was still dark in dark areas.

• Fixed a bug whereby mods that are not bf2 or not xpack permutate shaders every time a level is loaded.

• Fixed a bug whereby non-xpack mods cannot use xpack shaders.

• Fixed bug in TV guided missiles of Havoc helicopter

• Bug in MP7 fire rate fixed. Ammo count increased and mag count and damage decreased

• APC Update – “Chinese and MEC APCs can now shoot through penetrable materials”. This fix was a miscommunication to the patch team. Chinese and MEC APC’s have been reverted and the LAV25 now no longer shoots through penetrable materials.

• Vehicles no longer disappear when viewed from some vehicles with a HUD (e.g. Tanks).

• Performance gain found in static mesh rendering.

• Detonation radius from grenade launcher explosions has been reduced.

• Grenade launcher projectiles now have a minimum time before arming.

This is a list of confirmed fixes only – we are still looking at others that we hope to be able to announce soon.

As always, thanks for your support and keep talking – we’re listening.

So no fix on the annoyingly cheesy and unrealistic British accents for SAS in SF then...

I never knew the Mi-28 had a bug in the TV cam? Anyone else notice one?

Good Deal, nade laucher you can actually run away from. What about the thing everyone is hoping for: bunny-hoppers? I really don't care about change as long as I have fun. I like it the way it is, I do like the new maps though, always like the new stuff.

Phew, they are still working with the bunnyhopping thing! Hope they come up with something intelligent that doesn't ruin the game. I also hope that they will not make shooting while jumping impossible...

I think it's a good addition, makes mines able to stop armor for more than a second. It also prevents some TKs when an enemy tank shoots your mines and a team mate dies...

But that also prevents the tactic of putting a mine beside a stationery apc/tank and detonating it with a grenade

but u have to spot them first! the unexperienced tankdriver wouldnt be stopped for a few seconds, he would be blown away. i think its balanced how it is and it doesnt need a change. im always looking for mines and i think im not bad at it, and i still overlook some (or cant break in time, hm, we need instant brakes with htat patch ) so spotting AND disarming? definitely no sir!

True, but I saw somewhere(forget if it was this forum or another) that the blowtorch may be coming back to engineers.  If that's the case, you have your stationary vehicle killer right there

That's a weapon I find stupid. For taking down stationary guns and TOWs, maybe, but definitly not for tanks and APCs. Just throw a mine on top of the damned thing and wait for it to move. Or else we all have to cope with fifteen engineers rushing you with their BLOWTORCHES!

I don't want to sound negative, but I thought the AT mines were enough?

I got to have these Booster packs they sound a hell of a lot better (and cheaper) than Special Forces.
and i like (not super but like) SF

but does anyone know what tank that is on the European forces banner?

That is an excellent tactic for taking out armor trying to cap a flag.  Throwing the mine on top will work eventually but I may not want to give up the flag first.  Lay a mine behind him, chuck the grenade and run.  Works like a charm.

If we can't blow up the mines, how do we breakup "road blocks" of mines put down by teammates?

The change that I have a bigger question about is the 14 missles down to 8.  Is this strictly to give the chopper less offensive power or was there something else that I missed?

Well, you couldn't blow up mines with grenades initially (can't remember which patch changed it), so we'll just have to go back to doing what we did before they changed it.
