As I see it, VirginMedia have fucked up, big time.  If Sky want to increase the cost of the services VM resells, that's fair enough.  VM should just pass the cost on to their consumers and see whether any of them keep the service.

Sky ain't the problem. The service quality dropped suddenly after Virgin took over at midnight. My connection went wacko, and the TV channels started to change on their own.
This is quite apart from my upload speed being 1/10th of the download speed.

I'm with Virgin and haven't noticed anything different about the download speeds. Both Virgin and Sky acted like big babies on the issue over Sky One etc, and I am really pissed off now: NO 24 OR THE SIMPSONS!!!

You can have your Simpsons on channel 4 at 6.

I have 16Mb sky broadband, and it sucks so much I can't put it into words, (but I'll try) I keep loosing the connection to my router and having to restart it, I never had to do this with my old router. I keep getting packet loss, when I phoned them they hadn't even heard of the term packet loss, they didn't have a fucking clue what to do. Then I asked them to give me the information to use my old 3com router, but they said they couldn't do this as they "can't support the 3com router". My ping is also much higher than what it was with my old provider. 35-40 ms to a server in London, and I fucking live in London.

And I'm in a 12 month contract

If your thinking of going with sky broadband, don't.

I dont watch much telly so it wont effect me, I cant stand the Simpsons, dont watch 24 and the only thing I'd watch on Sky one would be for eg "the best 100 premiership goals" and if my Mrs caught me watching that she'd either fight me for the remote or sulk off to bed, then I'd go on pc/bf2.

I feel sorry for the fans of 24 but this change won't effect me, I cant afford sky sports and gave my chipped box away years ago now so I listen to football or go to the games (Cardiff City) myself.  We are on sky this Sunday but I'll catch up with my chipped box and watch it there.

I don't like bullies, I hate them and I think Murdoch (sky) tried bullying Branson (Virgin) so I sit on Virgins side of the fence in this case.  From what I gather Sky doubled the price and Virgin refused to pay, fair enough.

I'm backing Virgin/NTL. Sky are greedy fat cats wanting our hard earned cash. Just one thing I really mis my simpsons. Downloading them, converting them from AVI/MOV to DVD (ISO) is far to time consuming...
