I was wondering if anyone knew how to find your GPA, I have Pre-AP classes and stuff too and I don't know how to calculate everything to find my GPA. Karma for help.
Isn't it just A:4, B:3, C:2 D:1 and you just average them together?
Sorry, but am I the only person who finds it funny that this guy is in AP classes but can't figure out how to get his GPA?
A = 4.0
A-= 3.7
B+= 3.3
B = 3.0
B-= 2.7
C+=2.3
C = 2.0
C- = 1.7
anything below C will usually net you academic probation, so stay away from an overall gpa lower than a C.

Remember Me As A Time Of Day
its easy it goes on a scale from 1-4
A=4
b=3
c=2
D=1
F=0 i think
ok say you have 4 A's and 1 b, that would be 4+4+4+4+3, and that would equal 19, then you would divide that by how many classes you have which is 5. so its 19 divided by 5, which equals 3.8. if you had this, you would have a 3.8 GPA

I'm in Pre-AP, not AP. I can't take AP until my junior year. I'm a freshman..
No, you're not the only one...ThomasMorgan wrote:

I've known stupider people in AP classes. However, Majik has it correct unless you were taking Honors/AP before in high school in which case you may have been on a 5.0 scale. And actually, if you're a freshman you only have one semester to average out, right?

He must be taking pre-AP underwater basket weaving, which as we all know is done with the left hand rather than the right, excepting of course, if an individual is left-handed in which case it's done with the right hand.
I'm a fucking freshman ffs, how about you flamers go somewhere else if your not going to help.
I googled how to find the GPA of Pre-AP classes, but it doesn't show anything useful, so does anyone know how Pre-AP classes count?

Sorry, my post wasn't meant to be a flame.
Here's a helpful bit then...
DesertFox is right. When I was taking honors classes, we were on a 5 point scale. It's a bit of a reward for taking harder classes.

It depends, do you have any weighted classes.
Like at my school advanced earns you .25 higher, honors .5 higher and AP is 1 above the normal 1-4 scale.

I can find my average of my regular classes, but I don't know the scale for Pre-AP, that's what I am trying to figure out.
AP
A:5
B:4
C:3 etc

Whats ffs. Is that some kind of nerd lingo.
AP is a 5 point scale.
Regular classes are on a 4 point scale.

It's for people who have a small vocabulary.The#1Spot wrote:

stfu, does that have anything to do with the OP? no. Continue your flamewar in PMs if you feel the need. Otherwise stop cluttering topics with spam.|CoR| Majik_Kracker wrote:

My school was awesome and just got rid of weighted grading...so now instead of being able to get yourself a 5.0 for taking harder classes, you can "graduate with honors" and that hard AP class just gives you at best a 4.0. Apparently, the school won't give 2 shits if the valedictorian is a person who takes consumer math and earth science. w/e.
What is the GPA used for in the American education system?
