Nforce 4 Mobo. Onboard sound.
Microphone plugged into the pink port- not USB!

When i am not ingame, I can use my Microphone as and when i please etc etc.
However, when i got into Battlefield 2, my microphone stops working.

Heres everything that i think you may need....

I'm not sure what the problem is, but I can think of a temporary solution: Assuming you want to be able to use TS in-game, and not squad chat then simply disable your in-game VOIP.

i think its due to vista, rushed etc bf2 not 100% compatable so there may be a fix in vista SP1 ?

Cheers for the help guys, however after a few more hours of fiddling i have sorted out the problem.

The problem was that Battlefield 2 needed to be set up to
"Run in compatibility mode for Windows XP (Service Pack 2)"

Because.... for some random and strange reason. that once ingame, Battlefield 2 did not let me use any keyboard commands for any other program- it blocked them all. i.e. CTRL + ALT + DEL would not open up Task Manager (neither would CTRL + shift + esc), and so neither was TS registering the PTT button been pressed.

I have never needed to set up compatiblity, for any other program in Vista, or any other program at all in XP, which is why i didn't try it

So... problem solved, Audio settings in BF2 can also be configured as i could last time, and now TS is finally working .
