The horror genre, one of my favourite genres and yet one that has a high level of complete rubbish churned out in it's name on a regular basis. Name your top 5 horror movies and give reasons if you feel the need... here's mine:
1. The Shining (the undisputed world heavyweight champion of horror movies).
2. Ring (the original Japanese version, not the dreadful American remake thank you very much).
3. Candyman (a modern classic that was originally meant to be set in Liverpool, England instead of Chicago!?).
4. The Thing (because John Carpenter is a legend and deserves at least one film in anyone's top 5 horrors).
5. Nightwatch (the original Danish version and not the average American remake starring Ewan McGregor).
Also ran: Audition, The Exorcist, Session Nine, The Fog, Switchblade Romance, Dark Water (Japanese original), Twenty-nine Palms, Wolf Creek, Texas Chainsaw Massacre etc. etc...
