You have no personal liabilities attached to that?  Or would that fall on the company?

Depends.  I could lose my FAA license, but the money would come from the company.

That makes sense.  Was it ValuJet that used really old planes to keep things cheap?

They started with old planes I think (DC-9's)?  They were in the process of upgrading when they ran into problems.
