Should specialty servers with restrictions be allowed?

EA has it right, only infantry only servers, no others.9%9% - 2

Knife and Pistol only servers are "illegal" and can get you in trouble...

Not that I think its fun to run around trying to knife when you have so many more fun ways to kill.. but lets think about this...

People say it's illegal because it is restricting players... and kicking those who don't obey...

Dosn't that mean it's generally illegal to have special server rules and kick those who don't obey?

Does that mean if you are on a server that kicks people for camping an un-capturable flag... you should have your stats removed?

What if it is a server that kicks teamkillers for stealing planes or forcing a teamkill on a plane steal?

Wait a minute... speaking of planes...

Are there not in fact servers... that actually force you to use infantry only weapons, and take away options of vehicles?

Is this not a form of server-based restriction?

Surely your not going to complain about that because there are TONS of non-infantry only servers...

So if you want to have vehicles.. noone is stopping you.. just don't join an infantry only server..

But wait a minute.. by that logic.. if you want to steal planes.. join a server that dosn't care..

And if you want to rape a perma-spawn.. join a server that dosn't mind..

AND IF YOU WANT TO SHOOT A REAL GUN, DON'T JOIN A STUPID KNIFE SERVER AND THEN WHINE SO MUCH THAT IT BECOMES ILLEGAL!!!!

Jesus has noone figured this out but me?

By the way.. im gonna start an all stunt-flying and buggy/humvee racing server.  Anyone with a kill that is not a part of demolition derby racing will be kicked and banned!!!!

If you pay for a server, you should be able to make the rules as you see fit.  That's my take anyway.

nobody cares anymore, I have seen the same knife server in oppperation for 4 months now.
a year ago it would be shut down real quick.

as long as the rules are fair for all players, is not a statpadding server, and as long as the rules are inforced equally than its ok.

IO servers are different in the sense that there are no vehicles to take so you can't "disobey that rule" once you join. Its just a different type of gameplay. The rest of the rules, such as no baserape for example can be broken and there's no way this can be stopped. Same with knife only servers, since you can pick a gun and the only way to stop you is to kick you. In my opinion rules that require non stop observation by the admins are a bit dumb.

Server rules are gay.

Nothing wrong with IO and if people really want K&P servers let 'em have 'em, I don't care it won't affect me. But little rules like weapon restrictions, one of the worst I've come across was no AT missiles or GLs to be used on infantry, piss me off. Lots of base raping restrictions piss me off too, the number of times I've been kicked after sneaking into the enemy base destroying their commander assets and killing anyone who gets in my way - that's what spec ops are for ffs.
