The threshold is when it senses your voice and turns your mic on.
The higher the threshold the louder your voice needs to be to turn on the mic.

Mind you, Battlefield is still push-to-talk. Its just so it doesn't hiss and buzz while you're not talking, for the slow kids that hold B down. I think I have mine at 10% or something.

yes but not all the way. Like 1/8 to 1/4 inch away from the end. Just to cut out alot of the static and background noise.
