This is the real one:

https://images.google.ca/images?q=tbn:2HDsrsqQrKAJ:https://www.michaelkharris.com

This is the BF2 one:

https://wiki.bf2s.com/_media/weapons/unlocks/sasrif_g36e.jpg?w=130&h=&cache=cache

they look quite different, no? Not too bad, but the bf2 one has a longer handle, and where the top of the gun is, that gap in between the barrel kind of and the top where you look down to aim, is larger on the real one. And the real one has no foregrip.

This is pointless, but i just noticed it. Which one looks better?

I can answer all of your questions.
-The top rail comes in both the low design and the normal design.
-The vertical forgrip is a simple attachment that can be removed or added easily, like a scope, flashlight, laser, etc.
-Basicly your post shows that you don't no anything about guns. (thats ok , I am a bit of a fanatic...

edit: Oh yeah, the reason the G36E in game has the design of the G36C is because DICE and EA were to lazy to model a whole knew top rail

edit: OH yeah the, in actuality the G36E and the MG36 are basicly the same exact gun, ust one has a big magazine...
-They should have given the G36K the large top rail.

I guess they did this and the MG-36 so they wouldnt have to work too hard to make new stuff, i mean its the same stuff except for a slight modification. Lazy bastards. I WANT MORE UNLOCKS!!!

The difference might be in the rail system.  I dont know much about the G series, but if they're anything like AK's theyre all made by different countries and can have different variations...

EA/DICE probably didn't want another gun with an optical sight.
The real one comes standard with a 1.5? zoom.
Oh yeah, and if you were shot by one in real life, you would not calmly aim and return fire.

Don't get me started on the BF2 - real life thing.  BF2 is a place where real dinosaurs still live unaffected by time and Tuesdays are actually Thursdays

Pointless thread but I'll answer, the G36E in BF2 is a slightly altered verison, as has been said before, the grip on the front can be connected and it also depends of which company produces it, since the miltary has 12 contacts all of which make similar or identical guns depending on which company made it the deisng can be different.

The G36 is a highly modular gun.  meaning most all but the recivier can be swaped out for another part.  the stock can be fully replaced, as with the barrel, the top poart can be removed ect ect.  The US army is trying to get more modular gunes for a varity of rolls as well.  They work quite well for an army since every one knows exactly how to operate any weapon in the army.

Exactly. It's modular. They probably just have different parts on it.

where's the love for the higher rail? I love the original non-piccatinny rail sights...

Why would anyone love them?
They were integral, non-modular and and lacked horizontal cuts to disappate the effect of heat expansion.

The G36 is actually capable of taking many shapes and form the picture you showed is also known as the G36K for some reason but i have seen a demo of the rifle and the guy showing it used only one gun but 15 different parts and made about 5 different guns with different capabilities which i thought was cool (Wish the Aussie Forces would get them instead of this AICW platform they are working on.

The top image on the page simply shows "one" version of the G36 WITH the Handle/Scope design, the ones in BF2 simply use another design which incorporates a picatinny rail to allow a different scope, aimpoint, iron sights etc to be attached - in practice there is very little difference.

If DICE had included the top version it the scope would be similar to the F2000's sights.

They probably felt that the combination of the G36C/E's accuracy and a scope would be unbalanced as weapons like the L85 and F2000 which have scopes have the disadvantage of lower accuracy.

Makes sense to me!

So, shouldn't the MG36 in burst mode be just as accurate as the G36E in burst mode then?
