No, it means I don't find you worth debating on this subject anymore.
Because you are unable to put together a coherent and convincing argument.
No, it's because people like you blame America for everything, no matter what. It's pointless trying to lead you to logic, and 9-11 and our beloved troops are too important and serious to demean by engaging in a pointless circle jerk of a conversation when in the end you will still say;
America sucks and we brought 9-11 on ourselves.

That is your overarching point, isn't it? Kind of weaves its way through everything you type. Thats not being liberal; it's being a fanatic.

Have a good day.
Again you try to win your argument by putting words into my mouth.

That's the image you maintain of me because you can't believe that anyone would look at the facts and come to a different conclusion to you - I disagree with you therefor I must be a liberal fanatic.

I do not "blame America for everything". But when I look at the facts and see that a portion of blame can be attributed to a given party then I will stand up and say it as I see it.

You say that "our beloved troops are too important and serious to demean" and I whole heartedly agree. In fact I would go further and say that humanity as a whole is too important and serious to demean. That is why open minded debate on these subjects is of paramount importance if we are to call ourselves a civilised society.

I do not say "America sucks" - America is a very great nation and has brought us much that is good. However some of Americas citizens who have and/or do hold very powerful positions have made decisions that have resulted in a lot of evil.

As I have repeatedly stated in the past. I am not a liberal. Neither am I a fantic. Nor a neo-con. In fact I do not hold any fixed political stance. I examine the truth and I speak what I see.

As i read through the pages in this topic i find it strange that 2 people can read the same articles and come to different views on basically the same set of values - not that strange you say, the strange part is that they can use 2,5 pages just arguing why the other guys views are not correct ....

Isn`t that the hole point that we are allowed to have different opinions, and it is going to far by my standards to show people the door for having their own opinion

I see... the sentiment was somewhat lost by it being painted on a monkeys ass...

But anyway, getting back on topic - they're accused of committing a crime, they should stand trial, in the country in which the crime was committed. It's that simple.

It's also this simple; we are not going to participate in that trial.
Should the Italians wish to make a international incident of this so-be-it, it makes no difference in the end. And should we hear of Muslim fanatics that are plotting suicide attacks rest assured we will do the same thing.

No matter what happened to America on 9-11, you have no right to go into another country and abduct their citizens, even if they are Muslim fanatics who are plotting suicide attacks.

Now me again;

If Italy wants to deal with their own problems, fine, But if not, and we percieve a threat we will.
"we will" mentality only works if you ignore how nation states are suppose to act....and in IGNORING you are in all intensive purposes BREAKING the law of nations to which we all like to think we abide by.

Your "we will" mentality is no different then the German "we will" mentality that allowed itself to justify its actions.

The fact that this individual in the article associates THE MUSLIM population in its totality and some how equate to its size and then draw from it the connection that terrorist cells exist within it. No evidence other than the population signifies a bit of a generalization don't you think? In turn its going to be some pretty biases speculation on his part.....appeasing the terrorist? WTF?

So let me get this straight Italy is appeasing terrorist by choosing to protect a national after having had CIA agents transport him illegally out of the country to a third party facility where torture is an acceptable means of retrieving information. Yeah....they  sure are appeasing the extremist alright...ONLY...if they were to ignore the fact that this happened and let the CIA agents get away with this unjustifiable tactic.

Extremist are those they seek to act outside the law....and it makes no SENSE, not a shred of SENSE, to act outside the law to justify the search for those that do the same.

P.S.

THEY GUY WAS INNOCENT STOP USING THE--IF THEY FIND FANATICS BS --- THE GUY WAS INNOCENT THEREFORE TRIAL IS NEEDED FOR THE WRONG -- STOP USING THE IF LINE DUE TO IT NOT APPLYING TO THE SITUATION--- FIN

Saddam Hussein was a murdering asshole, but the US government supported him until he got too ambitious for his own good and thought he could buck the program. Now apparently we're supposed to believe he just woke up evil one morning and started killing and torturing his own people instead of realizing the US government didn't give a rat's ass who he killed or tortured for over a decade as long as he stayed friendly to US government interests.

Manuel Noriega was a drug-dealing murderous asshole, but the US government supported him until he refused to go along with US actions against Nicaragua. That's when he apparently woke up evil too.

Francois and Jean Claude Duvalier were a family legacy of murdering assholes in Hati that lasted for thirty years until their own people finally kicked them out. The US government supported them right up until the bitter end because they were more Cold War anti-communist allies, which apparently also gave them the right to torture and murder their own people.

Shah Mohammad Reza Palevi was a murdering asshole who ruled Iran after the CIA toppled the previous democratically-elected government. Membership in the sole political party he created was compulsory, his SAVAK secret police engaged in torture of Iranian citizens on a massive scale and his military used tanks and helicopter gunships against civilian protestors duing the "Black Friday" national protests in 1978. Eventually this and other abuses led to a full-scale revolt against the Iranian monarchy and the institution of the current Islamic theocracy a little over a year after "Black Friday". So, for the sake of anti-communism there, the US helped fundamentalist Islam gain a huge foothold in the Middle East by supporting a tyrant. Great job guys, thanks a bunch.

This is a short list. I could go down the line of every two-bit thug and halfass dictator the US government has ever supported who later either turned or became a liability, but I'll be here all frickin' day. And before anyone goes there, yes I realize other governments do the same damn thing. That is not an acceptable reason, that's kid logic: "Billy did it TOO!". Point being, the US government has an established track record of screwing with and destabilizing other countries, supporting tyrants and generally fomenting anti-US sentiments throughout the world. And guess who gets to reap the rewards of that? George Bush? Bill Clinton? No. We do. The regular folks who get pretty much zero say in all of this crap. They play power games and we get dead. We get planes flown into buildings, we get abducted overseas, we get suspension of habeus corpus and warrantless surveilance. We get extraordinary rendition. And on top of all that, like a cherry on a shit sundae, we get some smiling prick a`la Ronald Reagan telling us bedtime stories about freedom and liberty while they train the soldiers of third-world dictators how to torture people or they send weapons to people who will eventually become our enemies. They do this and then they practically sign all of our names to it, but then somehow manage to act shocked and appalled when one of their pet psychotics acts true to their nature.

So, maybe it's not directly our fault, but as long as we allow it to continue because some politician can trowel a big layer of "we're the bestest nation in teh world becuz we stand for FREEDOM" over it, we are responsible.

Yeah you post a hell of a lot but
A) it's always interesting
B) it's relevant to the discussion
and most importantly
C) it has punctuation and is readable without making your eyes bleed.

Bit of a rarity on this forum for posts of your length

Cripes, don't use the word "brilliant" to describe me, my ego is unmanageable enough as it is.

I really do try to avoid that C&P bullshite because I'd much rather use my own words. If it's important enough to me, I'll say it, I don't need someone like Michael Moore or Al Gore to do it for me. At the end of the day though, I'm just a regular guy who likes his video games, likes his coffee, loves his women and tends to dress all in black with snazzy metal accents.

Why haven't we installed US citizens in Iraqi government if we're so imperialistic?  That line is so tired it's getting really boring to hear people keep repeating it.
