I played in CAL S4 and it was great. The competition is unlike anything you'll find in a pub. Cave your Jihad tank has nothing on our Jihad RIB's.

Great competition here in CAL. Any teams interested in signing up that are new to competition, contact me and I'll be glad to help with strats and general pointers.

Get over to the CAL website (http://www.caleague.com/), click on the link to the forums in the upper left, then make a user name and password. From there navigate to battlefield series/8v8 open division. Then hit up the recruitment sticky that is up at the top. Post info about yourself and an xfire would be good also. Good luck!

CAL Season 5 is open for sign up.
Lets start off with how to get to the page. Go to www.caleague.com - go to the drop down menu - select bf2 8v8 open

Ok now your on the bf2 8v8 page. Lets get your team signed up. select join division. From here you see to options. select create team and enter your guid.
to get your guid go into a server. a empty server works better. open your console with this key "`" once in there type pb_plist and get the last 8 digits of your guid. all players will need these last 8 digits so get your whole team to do the same thing.

now you will be at a screen where u enter all your team info. select your division. thats between ur team to decide. strike is in the atlantic beacsue we have mostly east coast players. that is for you to decide though. Just fill out the team info and click create team.
now, you have your team created your players will have to join. you need atleast 8 on your roster to be active team and get scheduled. please dont rely on just those 8 players. get some backups on your team incase one of your starting 8 cant make it. for the players joining the team just select their team from the drop down menu. enter the team password that the leader selected. and enter your guid. refer to above for how to get guid.

Leave your xfire and a little about yourself and add the xfire of the team leaders that are looking.
There have to be more teams wanting to join this season. This could be the last season with 90+ teams, so get in if you want to see what all the hype is about.

These are the best matches, I've been in almost every match format there is (2v2 armor, 2v2 chopper, 5v5 infy, 5v5 everything, 8v8, 12v12, 15v15). 8v8 is what BF2 is all about and will forever be known for. As the number of BF2 players die down, 5v5 will become more popular but 8v8 is what counts.
So get your team signed up and ready to play. Its not about the winning, its about the fun.

The start of S5 has been delayed so we can test BF2Pro 1.5. So if you are interested in joining, join now before preseason is over. There aren't very many teams in the open division, so new teams will have a good chance of doing well.
