Should the US instigate a policy where the illiterate and/or those who dropped out of high school/never went to college and have never had kids can receive a check from the government for $20,000 if they decide to voluntarily chemically castrate themselves?

Since chemical castration is temporary, probably no.

Far better(?) to pay out for vasectomies and hysterectomies...
Can I claim the money and not take the pills?
Still, it wouldn't solve the labour problem in the western world; people are having not enough kids, not too many.

If it's your idea to get rid of stupid people from society, we'd be better off to pay them to kill themselves.
just say you'll give them $3M when they bring you their death certificate in person...ghettoperson wrote:

So, I guess idiots like Thomas Edison should not be able to reproduce. How you have done scholastically doesn't have anything to do with how well you can raise children.
Sounds like you are talking about compulsory castration...d3athwi5h4 wrote:

I'm not against compulsory castration, but the idea that someone should or should not be able to have children based on their level of education is absolutely absurd.UON wrote:

I guess the behind the post might be that it's usually the less educated people who's children cost the state the most....d3athwi5h4 wrote:

Well, the government wastes money on worse things than children.
I just feel that if Singapore can do it, why can't we?
Thats discrimination....
I've got an education - why cant I get money not to have kids

Why pay for chemicals? Just use two bricks.
We should develop a drug that sterilizes everyone, then allow people to apply for permits to have the counter-active drug.
paedophiles and rapists should be castrated then thrown on the street
Pretty much.UON wrote:

The education part doesn't seem to be a logical part of this equation. A lesser educated person could still make a decent living depending on their job and not necessarily cost the government money. Perhaps you meant something more like only the "upper crust" being able to reproduce.
Poking fun at Singapore. They have a policy of paying (rewarding) stupid people for not reproducing.Stingray24 wrote:

You don't need a formal education to contribute to society, anyone who thinks you do is guilty of academic snobbery at the least.
