Yup. It was in some thread about a soldier (Navy SEAL?) who jumped on a grenade.

in actual fact when u join the military u give up alot of rights
No use arguing with him. He has stated before that he thinks everyone who was in the military is dumber than him.scouseclarky wrote:

where was it in bergen and aushwitz
where was it in kuwait
in serbrinetza during the war between the serbs and croats the serbs rounded up over 9000 males of all ages and shot them all in the time period off less than 24 hours all these men from just one village this happend all across the country
in ww2 millions of people were executed for no reason at all
in kuait thousands were killed by chemical weapons dropped on them because saddam didnt like them
in africa there are thousands of ppl who were killed because they were a differant tribe or had a differant skin colour
who stopped the atrocities in the places above the military or the humanitarians
it was the military by putting themselves between the fighting party's and saying this stops now if u attack them we will attack you.
it was the military who sent soldiers overseas to fight and die so that these atrocities would no longer happen so that the ppl who lived there could live without fear of being grabbed in the middle of the night took to a field and shot for no reason at all
i dont care what ppl think of me as a soldier or the millitary at the end of the day at least i had the courage to join the army and be prepared to put my life on the line so that others dont have to. i did this when i joined i knew the risks and i chose to take the oath and the risks anyway.
the only thing i would ask is that before you slag the millitary off ask yourselves whats the biggest sacrifice you have ever made or are prepared to make. for most people its do i go the pub tonight or buy that game i wanted. for the person in the millitary its do i join and risk my life or sit back and let someone else do the dirty work for me

Perhaps he did not want to lower his standards and make his service look bad.
No, I've stated that I would have to be an idiot to join the army. Just the same as you would have to be an idiot to join Greenpeace.usmarine2007 wrote:

By the same logic I could argue that when I decide to live in Australia I surrender the right to kill people on a whim, or when I take a job I surrender the right to be rude to my boss.scouseclarky wrote:

Trust me, from personal experience. When arguing or debating with Bubbalo, there is no doubt that he will win.
Anyway, Isn't it something called choice?

Nope. You said "Sorry I wasn't stupid enough to join the military...."Bubbalo wrote:

That translates into: "I am to much of a Nancy Pant to risk my life for my countrymen, or to reciprocate any aggression on an enemy. I look up to real men who preserve my freedoms that I dont realize I have because I have probably never lived without them. So, because I dont have enough fuzz on my kiwi's to join the military, I will loathe those who do and insult their inteligence to belittle them, ensuring that I fullfill any insecurities I might have."
Also: " I am sick of those guys in dress blues sleeping with my girlfriend so I will hate U.S. Marines in particular."
PS- Happy Fucking Valentines Day
If I am lucky, someone will quote me someday.

Bubbalo, you gotta step up to the plate sometimes and do what you gotta do. To join the Army is an honor. To protect freedom, life and liberty. It seems you get all you info from the news outlets. The Army is more than about killing, its about helping and defending those who can't defend themselves.usmarine2007 wrote:

You do realize that most of what you posted was initiated by a military force, right?scouseclarky wrote:

My point is this... if people weren't so fucking aggressive in the first place, we could help each other more.
I'm not a pacifist by any means, but I do value the charitable and compassionate acts of humanity over the combative ones.
I'm NOT saying I attribute no worth to military personnel. Obviously, militaries are a necessary evil because humans are prone to attacking each other. As I stated earlier in this thread, I respect people that join the military because it's something I'd never do unless I absolutely had to.
At the same time, however, it struck me as rather senseless to bash someone for expressing a preference for compassion over combat.
Bubbalo I would appreciate you keeping my name out of any of your liberal laden responses. . .
