I want to buy a car. I know there are many factors that effect car insurance.

Some of you guys must have already done your research. Who would you go with/recomend?

I would be a first time car owner, Im 18 and it would need to be 3rd party, fire and theft.

Thanks in advance

Direct Line are very reasonable, and reliable.
Somewhere, something incredible is waiting to be known.

I have a great policy this year im only paying 1000 for a 1.6l and its my second year driving. However as with all great things there is a catch, my parents already have a policy for their cars which allows me to gain one. I would just try those companies that can search multiple insures.

Cheapest is Elephant (im 24 with 2y NCB driving Ins Grp 14 car and im paying £248 TPFT) get 1/2 years NCB then move to Admiral (Elephants parent company).  Not many other insurance comapnies accept Elephants NCB (im not sure if that is just the 10 month plan or full 12 month plan)

EDIT: Not sure of these companies that search for you (AA, Confused) How do they make their money, find a quote then add something on it?  Best to shop around.  Best Car = 1.5 TD Corsa: Cheap Tax, Cheap Fuel, Cheap Insurance.

I agree with everything you said, accept for the 1.5l, anything over 1.2 is expensive for under 21 year olds. I only went with 1.6 because it was my mums old car.
