Since this is a help forum, I might as well add something to it. A dirty case or even the right amount of dust in the wrong place can lead to serious issues.
I've been experiencing several second pauses, low FPS & texture glitches in BF2 & CSS lately, so a few hours ago I open up my case & it's a disaster. Just layers upon layers of dust on everything. In my CPU, GPU & case fans. All over my RAM sticks & my PSU. So I spend a good 3 hours cleaning it out with compressed air in a can & q-tips & I used windex to clean the actual case. There must have been like a pound of dust...literally.
So after practically tearing apart my case & cleaning it, then re-building it, I had a perfectly clean case & all my hardware was as good as new. So I fire up my PC & not only is it sounding great (a slight hum) but it looks awesome, and I can actually see the neon from the fans! I fire up BF2 & the texture glitches were gone & my FPS improved.
Im guessing it was the cat hair in my CPU fan, that was giving me such massive problems.
So I highly recommend you get in there & clean it up!
