My boss and I had a discussion earlier about parking cars - it's a slow day at work - and what was the best way to do it.  I'm talking about when you've got a bank of parking spaces like in a shopping centre or the airport or whatever.

I try to drive in forwards - I find it easier and I like to have free access to the boot (trunk) so I can load stuff if necessary.  He prefers to reverse into the space and drive out forwards.

Which do you prefer and why?

Backwards, dont know why I actually find it easier.  Plus theres the bonus of not having to edge your way out slowly when it comes to leaving.

Backwards: easier to make a quick getaway when the GF says lets go look in some clothes shop while were here.

I mostly do backwards.. but if I need something from the trunk I will park forwards.

I cycle, so it really depends on where it'll fit best in the pole thingies. It doesen't really matter, I can pick it up and swing it around in it's own length anyway.

Even though I am officially too young to drive I always park my car backwards in the garage. It's easier to get out then. But if I have to charge the battery I park forwards because then the front is further from the opening so there wouldn't be so much danger of rain getting in touch with the charger.
