Man, i just don't get this. EVERY news station is biased. From the 6:00 local news all the way up to the national networks. I listen to NPR in my car every day. You think I don't know it has a liberal bias to it? Hell yes I know, but that doesn't mean that I'm going to quit listening everytime I disagree with them.

Also, why do people keep bringing up Bill O'Reily? I have a news flash for you kids: He doesn't do the news. Its not possible to get your news from Bill O'Reily. He doesn't present it.

Now, do I watch FOX news? Nope, not on a normal basis. But then again, I rarely watch any news channel other than CNN. I just think Wolf Blitzer's hot. (and you know what? He's got a liberal bias too. And I can handle that just as well as I can handle Shepard Smith's conserative leanings.)

Really it comes down to political preferences.  I am conservative and I really enjoy Fox News.  I just like to hear positive things from a news channel instead of the constant anti-Bush reporting done on the main-stream news.

If you want to shut down Fox News, you really should shut down all other news channels because there will always be someone who disagrees with the news of that channel.  I'm just glad that there is a station like Fox so that I can have something to watch.

This was a stupid post.

That O'Reilly Factor is THE worst programme I have ever seen!  God he sucks as a host!
Yeah, that would be why it is the most popular cable news program.  Just that fact proves your talking out of your ass.

Here is the wiki-link to backup what I am saying:

Scroll down to where is says "The O'Reilly Factor" and read.

Voted no on principle.  It's not like it's a government funded news outlet, it's privately owned and quite frankly the owners can air what ever the hell they want (especially considering it's a cable network).

Those who voted yes obviously think very little of the 1st Amendment.  No wonder this country is going to shit.

P.S.  I can't stand Fox News, but I've got no problem with them being on the air, it's their right.
I'm fine with them being on the air, but the problem comes when they CONSTANTLY reiterate that they are the only "Fair and Balanced" news network when they are hardly even a news network to begin with.

Intentionally subverting the opinions of the American public and dissolving democracy at its roots is not a right.
Neither one of the things you said make any sense.

How are they not a new network?  Are you actually being serious?  Are you just jamming your hands on the keyboard and seeing what comes out?  WOW...

Haha, they are only subverting the opinions of the far left who control the other stations.  They hold with my opinion.  I'm American, so that then makes them right.  YOU'RE NOT RIGHT...

Interesting... Does the 1st amandment defends the right to spread lies? Should there not be some kind of ethics in journalism?
Give an example when you say something like that.  Otherwise your "opinion" doesn't mean shit.

Weren't FOX the ones that actually went to court to defend their right to just lie, mislead, falsify or just plain make up the news?

Oh and just in case people didn't know Bloomberg, FOX, CNBC and CNN are all available in the UK (if you pay for them on cable/satellite tv).
EXAMPLE of when they lied???

Hey, let me be like you for a bit....

Yeah, John Kerry killed John Kennedy to date Jackie O...

Bill Gates is a liar, he stole the name Windows Vista from my uncle.

Its easy to talk out my ass.  I should try that more often.

this is amusing to me.  Fox news doesn't fabricate stories out of absolutely nothing ala Dan Rather and CBS.  in a world where people are used to the news selection & sanitation by left-wing networks, Fox news certainly seems out of the ordinary.  that is good in my opinion.  watch it or don't watch it.

The far left control the stations?  Hahahahah.  Yeah right.  "News" channels in general are very moderate.  Please give me an example of this (left leaning mainstream news channels).  If news channels were left-leaning, they would be focusing on left leaning topics such as social justic, elimination of Corporate Welfare, Socialized Medicine, etc.

Mainstream news channels are a buffer.  They can't comment too harshly either way, for fear of being alienated by sponsors, who ultimately make the decision on what to air, because they pay the bills.

Cable news channels have a little more leeway, because people often pay for them, therefore want them for a reason.  Cable news channels are definitely biased, no doubt.

If you are looking for news that is actual news, I suggest reading multiple articles, checking multiple sources, and forming your own conclusion.

One of my favorite news sites is www.indymedia.org.  They strive to have user submitted news facts, not opinions.  I go there to read about stories I am interested in, and rarely to never catch "news" on the tv.

  • Try to predict the weather for 5-10 minutes (and be wrong a lot)
  • Talk about who was at the last Playboy Mansion party (make sure to put in a few shots of scantily clad ladies)
  • Some human-interest story about a cute little girl/boy who was abducted (even though this happens countless times a day, everyday, no one cares about an overweight 14 year old who gets kidnapped, only the cute little boy/girl with the missing tooth and the catchy smile)
  • Mention some type of local fear inducing travesty that happened (I am from Socal, the ones they always use are gang shootings and wildfires)
  • Make sure you hire some pompous, self-absorbed hot chick or middle aged man to read the news to you (think Jillian Barbarie or Peter Jennings)

There you go, I expect to see some "news" channels up by the end of tommorow.
