oh dont worry about ur score ghost, if you play on different servers (non are ranked, so dont expect much, wait, you might find a few ranked servers, but they are mostly out of a couple of hundred people

oh yeh, about the grenade, thing, i guess its to just distract players, or to damage them before they rush in and kill ( i guess you can kinda call it customary, some people throw "flashbangs" aka flash, to distract the enemy while they peek in the chokepoint to see if there is anyone to kill, and those grenades might come handy in a 1 on 1 situation,e.g.- if the enemy is camping and you know where he is but you dont want to approach, use you nades!, a frag nade will damage, the flash can get him blind for a couple of seconds so you can rush in a kill.....and so on....

These are the weapons I use when I play CSS:
Deagle - awesome pistol.  I usually buy one when I first start and have no money.  Harder to hit at long range.

TMP (I think that's what it is CT gun with silencer) - decent cheap SMG.  Really easy to get headshots at close range.  just aim for the upper torso and the recoil will give you a headshot.  Goes through bullets fast, though, and isn't good at long range.

P90 - midpriced SMG.  This gun is great if you can't afford to get the M4/AK.  It is a spraymaster (has a 50 round clip).  Also easy to get headshots.  A lot of the time, if I don't have the money to get the M4/AK and a vest, I'll just get the P90.  Not too good at long ranges though.

AK/M4 - Both of these guns are great.  There is a lot of discussion about which is better.  Personally, I like the M4 better.  Both are good at all ranges.

Shotgun - this is also a good low-priced gun for maps with a lot of close-in fighting.  If aimed correctly, it is a one-shot kill.

AWP - I don't use this much.  It takes some time to get used to.  Very good gun once you get used to it.  I really hate this gun!


A few other tips (probably been said already, but...)
Always buy a vest and helmet if you can.  I'll sometimes buy a little cheaper gun so I can get a vest.  The helmet can sometimes prevent you from dying from a headshot.

You don't need to buy the full complement of ammo.  For instance, you can carry 3 extra clips for the M4.  I never use all of this ammo, so its a waste of money.  Use , and . to buy individual clips of primary and secondary ammo, respectively, up to the point where you have enough.  If you live, you can buy another clip at the beginning of the next round.  If you die, you have more money to buy new shit.

Burst burst burst.  Generally, you can't spray and pray in CSS. 

WHen playing CT, buy a defuser.

You can set up buy scripts that make the buying process simpler.  For instance, I have a script that will attempt to buy vesthelm, vest, defuser, grenade, flashbang in that order.  Makes it much easier.

Aah! The script aka Micro/Macro Could you please explain how to make these scripts?
My standard micro has became :
B-4-2 (AK-47)
B-6    (Primary Ammo)
B-8-2 (Vest+Helmut)
Thats pretty much it .

As for Fo_Shizzle,
I saw a lot of people type "Rank" in those servers.
I did the same and it stated that I whas not ranked yet. Do you get some sort of rank if you play one 1 server long enough?

I think this is how I have mine.  I'm doing it from memory, so some may be wrong.  You would add this to a .CFG file:

If you don't know about CFG files, you create an autoexec.cfg file in the CFG directory under source (don't remember the exact path, but it will already contain a config.cfg file).  YOu can use autoexec to call other cfgs or put the bindings in this file directly.  I created another cfg called buy.cfg and call it from autoexec.cfg.

Are you telling me there's no love for the FAMAS?

Switching that baby to burst fire turns it into a headshot machine. I've killed plenty of SNIPERS with it.

The TMP is also a very excellent weapon. It's a pissed off little thing. If you just keep the reticle on their head, you're a shoe-in for a headshot...that is unless they cower behind the shiny glass of sniper scope.

I usually use the M4, AK, AWP, deagle, and usp. I play on the hardest servers like team3d and usually on top of the scoreboard doing incredible reflex shots quicker than the eye, but i'm done with CS, it has gotten really old and boring and just seems to be hurting my wrist from mindless fragging. Sorry for bragging.

bah CS? i liked it when it first came out but got into Day of Defeat and Team Fortress Classic, there all cool games really. Got CSS but never really played it much it lacks something....terrain? WW2 weapons? something like that anyhow.....give DOD a go as well its not a bad old game, id swap half the BF2 weapons for the DOD ones anyday!!!...MG42 v PKM, Bren Gun v assault gun in BF2 lol

I got tired of all of the shooters using WWII hardware.  I prefer current weaponry.

Yeah thats the one thing you need to get used to in CSS... The hitboxes are god-awful... They're so far off it's unbelievable.  It's just your luck.  I've been hit when my "body" was CLEARLY around the wall. Just takes a bit of getting used to.
But the AWM is so gay cause if you got 2 people covering the one spot (i.e underpass in Dust1) yer screwed, and don't stand a chance unless someone comes along and pwns them from the side.

Like I said...Real men use scouts.

Hey I got another question for you guys..
How do you change your name in-game? Siriously I know this is something everybody knows except teh n00bies .
Somebody said something about ` or ~ consule but I cant open consule in-game :S.

Any help is appreciated.

press esc and go to options the first menu . it should say unamed or something just type what every you want in the text box....

now do all this to unlock your console.
press esc go to options then keyboard or keys at the bottom of the window you should see a box you can check off that says something like enable developer console check that hit apply then ok.. go back in your game where you can move and shoot and press the ~ key you dont have to press shift but tyeah that key and thats your console type Fps_max 9999 in press enter that will remove the 60 fps cap also to see your fps type in
Net_graph 1 to remove it go back in your console and type Net_graph 0

welcome also if you want type developer 1  in console and it takes off the 100fps cap so you can go to 9999 fps if you have the card to handle it but if you have any problems or questions ask. AND THAL SHALT BE ANSWARD
