Earlier today I was riding shotgun in an EU transport, and I couldn't hit anything at all with the frikkin minigun. I'll be happy to admit that I'm not the best gunner in the world, but I had ample opportunity and targets. I never saw a single hit pip. We hovered in the general area of a stationary sniper, and I burned the gun out on him. Again, not even the first hit, let alone kill. I know I should have at least hit him once. Is this a known bug that I haven't heard of?

Also, at the end of the round, I noticed that I was ranked as a recruit even though I'm actually a 2nd Lt. gold. I had never seen that before in bf2142 either.

I did get kills/hit pips while I was ground pounding, but I didn't notice one way or another in other vehicles(I don't spend a whole lot of time in vehicles). So I don't know if it was just the EU transport, all air vehicles, or all vehicles.

Again, I may very well suck, but I don't suck so badly that after five minutes in a transport I can't get one single hit.

lol, a little off topic, i was in greenwood, sc not too long ago, now im in atlanta.... and wow, south carolina fucking rules! especially columbia, its bad ace.

on topic, recruit bug, could have affected vehicles, just disconnect, reconnect (should take about 5 seconds for load second time) if THAT doesnt fix it, then close out entirely and repeat, if THAT doesnt fix it.... find a new server.

I've lived in Columbia most of my life. I wouldn't go so far as to say its "bad ace", but its a nice place to live. I surveyed the Greenwood County airport some years back, but I don't remeber much about the town itself. Atlanta kind of scares me. Its like driving in South America or something.

the phrase "riding shotgun" comes from the old horse and buggy days when one guy would control the horses and another guy would sit next to him on the bench with a shotgun. I was using it to refer to manning one of the two guns on a transport.

LOL! atlanta is fine.... of course ive lived in the metro my whole life, and greenwood/columbia is so awesome. i like the resedential areas, like... neighborhood, where other people live! where i am, not a single kid lives within 15 mins of me

but yeah, SC is awesome. just like the layout.

Yeah it happened to me few times while in a walker, I even have a video of it. The bullets would hit infantry and make them twitch, but no damage. I fired atleast 50 bullets at a mate that was standing still and nothing happened. And the rocket would fly few meter and than hit the ground.
All I had to do was get out of the walker than get back in.

Thats happened to me! I was in the gunner position and the driver was hovering over the enemy transport, I let loose on a guy camping the upper titan bay, riddled his body with bullets and couldn't kill him....but the hit pips did show up.

Strange.

I seem to experience this when i'm commander. Hits don't seem to register and when i clearly kill someone, it doesn't say who i killed (althoug in the upper left corner it shows the kill correct).
I still get my correct pins for killing five in a row etc.
Last few days i experienced it a lot too.

Yeah, I've encountered this rare glitch, where I'll pulverize a target with the walker or the transport, and the enemy won't take any damage. Same thing with the glitchy walker missiles, they occasionally will hit everything BUT your target. Bad coding possibly, I wonder what circumstances lead to causing this. Time to go experimenting.

no your correct - because commanders aren't supposed to be killing things, kills do not add to your score or show down the bottom. However, they are shown in the top left and in your score (press tab).

and on the topic, i have never experienced this
