Can somebody please explain to me why it is in the Iranians best interest to be picking a fight with us?
I know they want Iraq, but if they get caught killing Americans a large portion of the U.S. population will support war against Iran.

This sucks.

The Iranians may be responsible the conducting the attack that resulted in the murder of five American soldiers in Karbala.

On January 20th, a team of twelve men disguised as U.S. soldiers entered the Provincial Joint Coordination Center in Karbala, where U.S. soldiers conducted a meeting with local officials, and attacked and killed five soldiers, and wounded another three. The initial reports indicated the five were killed in the Karbala JCC, however the U.S. military has reported that four of those killed were actually removed from the center, handcuffed, and murdered.

Time to put on the kid gloves and spend 750 billion dollars improving Iran while the world hates us more.

Would be just to inexpensive and effective to carpet bomb Tehran and tell them if they pull any other shit or are caught planning any other shit we will continue with the rest of their cities.

More saber rattling...

Look guys, I don't like Iran's government, but their people may actually put reformists back into power.  If you really want to deal with Iran in a productive way, back an insurgency within Iran.  Help the reformists and moderates there overthrow the Ayatollah.  That would be cheaper and more effective than actually warring against them conventionally, and....  it would be returning the favor to them, since they've been funding the insurgency in Iraq.

Remember.... revenge is a dish best served cold.

Iran is trying to mettle in affairs they best stay out of. . . .

Hey, keep it up is all I have to say!!! keep it up guys. . . .

I can tell you Iran would not like to mess with this country if they put us to the brink, and the overall US populace supports actions against them!

They are testing the waters to see what they can get away with. . . Firefight here, firefight there, giving weapons, help make bombs. . .they are building a case against them that WILL be a solid one! And if more troops die at that are a direct result of Iranian involvement, there WILL be consequences. . .no doubt about it!

and Nancy fucking Pelosi and the rest of the brain dead liberals will have no choice but to support actions against a regime that truely does want our destruction!

WAKE UP PEOPLE WE ARE AT WAR, and Iran is the next target. . . .rightly so might I add!

Are you sure about that? A lot of people seem to be of the 'live-and-let-live/turn-the-other-cheek' persuasion.

I think the answer to this problem is simple.  I think the military needs to show the Iranians that NO shit like this will be tolerated.  They want to kill our soldiers?  Fine.  For every soldier in Iraq executed at the hands of people working directly for the Iranian government I say we fire a cruise missile at one of their military targets.  Or hell, a low yield tactical nuke.  n00bs want nukes, I say we send them airmail via the USPS ballistic first class.  Okay, that might be a little extreme, but regardless, we need to give them a swift kick to the ass for this stuff in Iraq.

So say that some foreign imperialist nation was messing around in, say, Canada.  They were bombing the shit out of their people and overthrowing their government, all in the name of democracy of course.  And say that their next oversea adventure was going to be based here, in the almighty/alpowerful/alknowing USA.  Would we not be sending our troops into Canada to stop/slow them before they got here.  If the American populous or government heh .. could just take a step back and realize that the Iraqi insurgents and Iranians and what have you are just doing the same thing our government would be doing.

WAKE UP GENIUS OUR FOREIGN POLICY CAUSES THESE POINTLESS WARS, and while Iran may be or next target, it'll just be a repeat of Vietn.. I mean Iraq

EDIT:  my URL didn't work

Both, though most Christians rarely follow that principle to the exclusion of variation.

In order to be consistent, we'll need to do the same to Saudi Arabia, since they've been funding and aiding the Sunni insurgents in Iraq.

In other words, the anti-war people are closer to Christ in that regard.... ironic...

Nevertheless, there are plenty of people who would just like to have less war.  I'm one of those people, and I don't see how fighting Iran would be a good idea in any regard.  I realize war is sometimes necessary, but Iraq wasn't, and neither is Iran.

Of course, the extent of adherence and exceptions allowed all depends on doctrinal interpretation, all of which is subject to the scrutiny of those who do not believe in any of it.

Show me "Kill Iran" on the board....Congress says....No.

Look people are fed up with Iraq, bluntly put. Truefully, I'm tired of my own parties representative lying to me...I respect the presidential position, but not the man holding the office. He's been begging and begging for more time...And I'd gladly give it to him...If he gave me a plan...But pulling out of Iraq and going straight into Iran...while Iraq is still in the shitter, is completly retarded...I say we just hire an assassin from out of country and blow Ahmadinejad's brains out. and then carpet bomb all of his nuclear refineries. "Political Talks" are obviously not working.

War is sometimes necessary when all other options are exhausted. We are not there yet. We should be at least communicating with the people causing all the trouble. You don't have to rule out military force in the future to do this. The single minded mindset of military action is not always the solution. Look at what is going on inside of Iran now. Not to mention the Saudi's discontent with them. Iran is getting warnings right now not only from the US but from the World. Lets see how it unfolds before we consider tactical nukes (Which is ridiculous in itself, we have enough Precision-guided bombs and missiles to take out every major target in Iran as it is. Why detonate a radioactive bomb when all you have to do is enter coordinates with something much more precise?)

Some have argued that Ayatollah Ali Khamenei is trying to bring on a new Holocaust.

Oh no, not true!  First we have to stop selling them our military hardware, then let them get overthrown by a religious fanatic, then let them hold our people hostage, then sell them more stuff, then forget about them for 12 years or so, then get mad at them for trying to build nukes, then get UN sanctions imposed on them.
Thats how you remain consistent!

The report says it all "Iranians may be". Maybe is not confirmed.

You can have a headline Fiji May have nuclear weapons. They may well do but that isnt confirmed.

I smell a rat...

Germany 1939, Polish border, Gleiwitz incident anyone? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gleiwitz_incident

The Gleiwitz incident was a staged attack on 31 August 1939 against the German radio station Sender Gleiwitz in Gleiwitz, Upper Silesia, Germany on the eve of World War II in Europe.

This provocation was one of several actions in Operation Himmler, a Nazi Germany project to create the appearance of Polish aggression against Germany, which would be used to justify the subsequent invasion of Poland.
I bet this is all fabricated by US. Iran does not have US SUV's, uniforms, etc. They have nothing to gain with a war between them and the US.

Maybe if Iran had been given the nuclear assistance it asked for and is entitled to this whole Iran/nukes thing could of been avoided.
