Ok yeah, this is pissing me off:

How do you open the 'chute? (yeah, press 9)
I can fly in a plane, jump out and land safely. BUT When jumping from atop the TV station for example, It never deploys.

Am I missing something? I did it a few times when I first started playing. But ever since then it's been *SPLAT*.

If you hit the side of the building it counts as hitting the ground - the time needed to open the parachute is reset.

Hammer it repeatedly. Often needs 2-3 taps before it works.

Bind your parachute key to the spacebar and just tap it a few hundred times and it should deploy

I rebound mine to Backspace and it opens on the first tap now. Plus, it's a big key and easy to find when you're in a rush.

Or bind to one of the side-buttons of a Logitech MX-518.

I only need one click and it never fails.

True!

I got sick of hammering the "8" button in the dark like a woodpecker on meth and wondering who the fuck packed my parachute.

And then realizing the woodpecker sold the "9" button for some more meth.

Um to sum up, yes bind it to a mouse key and never hammer the chute key again!

One click and no splat.

But I use those for 'spot' and 'prone'.

I find it easier not to jump off buildings without preparation.
