No, this is not a post stating the best video card to this date and its price, but thats what the question of this post is.

I will be getting a new computer eventually, even though i need 2000$ braces soon grrrr.

What is the best video card out there to run bf2, and for a price affordable to a pretty poor family? (under 400$)

GeForce all the way, my friend has all sorts of problems with ATI

here is a list of several that I would recomend, really any of them would be good, the $200+ 6800 series are what I would recommend as a minimum. the 7800 series is killer.

yeah, the GeForce 7800 GTX is top-of-the-line, but also really expensive. i guess i'll have to check out the 6800 series.

I run the 6800 GT right now and I haven't had one problem yet with video in BF2, and that whole 6800 series is a lot cheaper than last spring when I bought it for almost $400.
