If you have internet at your post and see this, where did you end up? I was over for 16 months at the beginning of the war and lived in several different bases. Mostly west of Baghdad. I bet they are a lot different now.
Would you have the alternative? A military that evaluates the objectives it is given and then decides whether or not to comply? In a free society that is generally considered to be a bad thing, as militaries that reject the objectives of the civilian leadership, tend to act on their own objectives as well. The latter is definately a bad thing (see; Junta).

That is a VERY good point (I don't believe in the draft myself), but a bit out of place in this thread. That servicman (and all the rest of the Americans in Iraq) volunteered to serve. Because of people like him, we don't need a draft which would force you to serve also.wlater12 wrote:
