I think part 2 is way better then part 1. At the end you get to see all kind of flashbacks that puts all the clues together. Scary, but brilliant.

Saw was GREAT - made on a low budget and picked up at one of the film festivals by Lions Gate.
Saw II is Good - hard to beat the first one but a nice job

In Saw - you know the kid that is chained in the room with the Dr.? - he wrote it!!!

Now if you want sick, twisted, morbid and macabre - you just gotta love Texas Chainsaw Massacre or TCM (the original one of coarse)!

Leatherface rocks.

*raises an eyebrow*

Are you all serious you thought it was that gross and scary? To me anyway, that was pretty much boring and nothing I havent seen before. But then again, we get alot of this kind of junk in America anyway.

And while there's no one I could consiter a Hollywood moviestar in it, there was Beverley Mitchell, from 7th Heaven, which is an old TV series here in the states. The rest I don't think I've seen elsewhere.

If you really want to see hardcore and gruesome deaths, see orgrish.com and nowthatsfuckedup.com

Hello Sgt.Gh0st welcome to the game.
As you look around your suroundings you will notice the dead body on the floor in front of you.
Your face has been rigged with a reverse spring trap that will snap open, thus ripping your jaw apart in 5 minutes.
The only way out is to remove the device using the key located somewhere in the dead body in front of you.
Good luck - let the game begin.

SAW 1&2 were both pretty awesome, but not all of THAT sick or shocking. Mostly just awesome .
I find all the faces of death and REAL footage of people getting killed much worse, even if it's less gory.
Just a helicopter crash filmed from a distance makes my stomach turn, because I KNOW that there were REAL people in there that died. Even the sickest movie doesn't affect me at all because I know it is fake, however convincing it might look. That's the key difference for me.

Saw was a good idea, I havn't seen Saw II.
The thing is, those films where people die in imaginative and sick ways don't scare me. The only horror film that really scared the shit out of me was "The Grudge." Before you say "AW WHAT!?" realise that I havn't seen the American ripoff, but the Jap version.

There you have to realise the subtler side of horror, which Hollywood dosn't do justice to. For example, in the Jap version, an old mentally deranged man is seen playing with an imaginary friend. Aparently he always acts like this, so the orderlies don't pay it much attention. Now, very briefly and in the background someone opens the door. In the reflection and very briefly we see that the old crazy guy is playing with the ghost kid. This occurence isn't jazzed up by focusing on the door, or giving one of those ominouse noises, it's in the background, and it's quite possible that you'll miss it, but that is finely crafted horror. Pure class.

In the American version, they did a similar thing, (aparently,  as I said I havn't seen it. My Sister has who pointed out 'The Grudge' to me in the first place.) The main character's boyfriend is in some place, and the he looks to his left and sees the Ghost kid staring back at him. The guy recoils, 'Who are you? What are you doing here?"
Subtle? Scary?
Not really. Not as scary as it could be.

See when starting out to see a movie like SAW or SAW II you can act like one of those Louisiana psychics - "He Gon' DIIA!" - But with a movie like the Jap Grudge, it works on so many other levels.
Then again it was really confusing. I swear the same character died heaps; the Asians in the film all looked the same to me.

Similarly to the Ring, although I havn't seen it's Japanese predecessor, the American bastardisation was amusing, but not scary. Then again it was probably because I saw The Grudge beforehand which 'immunised' me to it.

Hah, I'm in a Rip It Up magazine competition to get 'Wolf Creek' tickets. I always go in for all their competitions because few others do, so I have a decent chance of winning.

Im not even gunna attempt to watch it. I seen preivews for Hostel, and it looks just as bad.

I guess the mvoie isn't that bad, since its fake, but like LeatherFace posted a quote from the movie, it just makes you scared, thinking of what might happen.

My friend told me that In saw II that they all have a code or a key in their head, and they needf to to open a safe to get the antidote to cure them from the gas filling the house. he told me they had to dig through their eyes with needles to get the key. how gross is that?

also, just seeing the preview of Saw 1, the lady who has that explosive on her head, and the key to diffuse it is in the dead mans body just creeps me right out. similar to the bear trap-on-head thing, but  abit more scary.

The movie does have a good Moral to it though.

The jap version of The Ring is actually totally awesome, though I found the American version pretty good too.

How untrue is that... He's talking about two different scenes in the movie. The 'Number to the combination of the safe' was at the 'back of their heads'. The interesting wordplay here unfolds itself as the number was actually tattoo-ed at the base of their necks.

And yes, there is a scene with the needles. Where there is a key in there to open a door, but SOMEONE has to get into the pit of used syringes and needles.

There you go. Spoiler all the way

They're both pretty awesome but they both have LAME fast-forwarded 'car-chase' scenes with a loud humming sound superimposed over it.
