I've logged about 100 hours on BF2142 and I've ranked up to colonel silver, I have played carreer points rather than global points because this gives me targets and variations of gameplay, but at this point there is almost nothing sensible left to go for reward wise. Other than the legion of merrit ribbon, distinguished unit service ribbon and about 2000 points worth of badges, everything else takes lots of hours of gameplay doing one thing, which doesn't really turn me on at all. So as far as I am concerned I've 'completed' the game and I suppose that lots of people like me will find the game stagnates at around the 32000 - 37000 point range, you only get more points than that by slogging away for hours as a commander or in aa or air transport etc.
I think the rewards should be harder to get, there should be a nice balance so that you should get a steady stream of rewards throughout the game, best way to do that is to tie some into your total score, add requirements that you need a minimum of 30000 career points to go for the award, anyway I guess this will soon signal my retirement from BF2142 just like the big ranking gap in BF2 caused me to lose my interest, that took 350 hours to happen though..
