Yes, that's it. I could have took the medic whore route like simon, but sniping presents more of a challenge than reviving.

Obviously don't have enough experience in the "art" to understand why we play sniper. And you know what? That's fine. Play medic all you want. Sniping and playing medic are two completley different ways of though as to game play and strategy. It works for some, and it dosen't for others. No need to start to moan about it.
