System specs are enough, might be a lack of RAM, 512mb is really choppy in BF2 if that's what you have.
might be a problem with your RAM...or try defragging your comp
No ive got 1Gb of RAM....i might try defragin the compy,
On important thing to check is that your sound card drivers are up to date and that the settings aren't set beyond your cards capability. Things like that can cause lag like a bitch.
edit: Forgot to add. Set the sounds settings to software and low etc to see if lag still happens.

you know, i turned my audio settings to high and i got less lag in-game.
i run a prehistoric PC with only 512 and that really helped me out....it surprised me because i thought it would take more to run audio on high, therefore taking away from everything else..........
also, im probably wwwaaayyyyyy off, but if you have a wireless mouse you could be getting interference........

It sounds like a mouse issue. I would have the same probs with mouses with low DPI, it wasnt til I got the razor copperhead did it stop for me.
