hi, ive had my tv for a while. its a toshiba 32WL56P 32" LCD HDTV. i used to have it on vga but a friend insisted i buy a hdmi lead.so i purchased one. the resolution that its set to and the only one that looks decent is 1824x992, it goes to 1920x1080 but the desktop is too big so i use the overscan facility and it reduces to said 1824x992. only problem is i cant play bf2 i tried editig configs but the game goes black screen then crashes back to desktop. can any body help please?  ps i'd like to keep it on hdmi as the desktop and movies look good.

i went to nvidia cp and used the underscan function, then went to my docs bf2 profiles and edited the custom cfg and 001 cfg to same resolution as desktop

Do as KMT said...bf2 doesn't like Widescreen resolutions so you will have to force it into using a widescreen resolution..

you may have delete your profile for it to function properly after you force the resolution

He means, edit the shortcut as the website he linked you to said.

Setting A Custom Resolution

Since the lack of a range of resolutions is one of the most common complaints about BF2, I'll spell out the solution again here. It involves using the +szx and +szy command line options (covered in the Advanced Tweaking section). For example to set a resolution of 1280x1024, go to your BF2 launch icon, right-click on it and select Properties. Then in the Target box put a single blank space after the last character and insert +szx 1280 +szy 1024, substituting any other number for the 1280 width and 1024 height respectively to suit your needs. The end result should look something like this:

"C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\Battlefield 2\BF2.exe" +menu 1 +fullscreen 1 +szx 1280 +szy 1024
"people in ny have a general idea of how to drive. one of the pedals goes forward the other one prevents you from dying"

Tried all the afore mentioned ideas on curing this problem, after doing a little research it seems that nvidia is having trouble with 1080i support in a sli rig due to frame rate rendering, i will do a little more research and let you guys know whats happening,ps im using 93.71 with 2x 7950gx2

after alot of digging i managed to find out that bf2 will not work on hdtv 1080i if sli mode is enabled! i managed to get it to run 1920x1080i @60 using just 1 gpu. ps i did the extension string and that also did work but only on single gpu mode. it would seem that sli confuses hdtv as to which frame to render per gpu. sorry for the waste of a topic!!!
