Looks good. But it's expensive, and as I expected I've found lots of slightly negative reviews about pixel issues (which Viewsonic are notorious for, despite being a pretty good manufacturer in general).

Lots of people reporting dead pixels on it, but other than that it looks nice.

Why do you need a nice monitor and keyboard anyway... I find it hard to believe that two pieces of equipment such as those, that you dictate the performance of, meaning, a nice keyboard won't make your fingers quicker, and a nice monitor won't move your mouse into better views. Personally I run on a laptop, so I'm no expert on interchanging monitors and keyboards, mine are fixed. However, with all due respect... I don't think a better keyboard and monitor are going to make you any better at BF2. The monitor maybe for movies tho. . But as to the res. on the 17 and 19 inch screens... my laptop is a widescreen, 17inch, and it runs the same res. (1440x900) as the 19inch monitor did. So if that helps.
Just my opinion.

I have no intent of the keyboard/monitor making my game play better :p.

I'm just looking to upgrade as I'm moving into a semi modern room, and at the moment i have a big hefty old type dell screen.

Although the keyboard may improve game play slightly with the extra keys :p.

But yes it's mainly for movies etc.

I'm more of a dependability over fanciness guy, and I'd swear by anything HP makes, no matter who says anything about it. My desktop has a 17inch reg. flat screen monitor. Keep in mind, I just have it hooked up to a big external hard drive and use it as a server at home, but the monitor I have on that looks sharp (it's silver though), and does the job well. I dunno it's reaction time or w/e, I'm not a computer guy, but I can link you to the page for it and maybe you'll find out there.
That's what I have

Hanns-g = win, fantastic gear and cheap so I'll second knuck on the monitor.

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showprodu … =KB-022-RA <--My keyboard, shit loads more functionality than any other keyboard. Reprogam any key to do whatever you want (can even move the key over too comes with a key remover tool thingy), set up 100 different profiles for 100 different games, does macros, has a slot to put in crazy add ons. Also matches very nicely with a Razer Copperhead or Deathadder if you want to get a decent mouse at the same time

EDIT: fucked link.

Widescreen is good for gaming. You need to tweak your games a bit, but thats ok. It's also exceptionally useful for doing normal stuff, the extra desktop width is great.

This one's pretty nice. 6ms, but are you really going to notice 1ms difference? I can't tell the difference past 8ms.

Although I still think the 1st one I suggested is the best of the bunch.

I run BF2 in widescreen.

1680x1050. It supports what you tell it to. The HUD is slightly stretched, the rest is fine.

"Response Time Changes and the Introduction of Overdrive

With the introduction of overdrive panels the ISO point is not always the fastest transition any more, and so if a monitor has a response time quoted as “grey to grey / G2G” then you can be pretty certain it is using overdrive technology. The manufacturers still want to quote the fastest response time of their panel and show the improvements they have made though, but be wary of this change away from the ISO standard of quoting response times. The ISO response times have hit a wall really with TN Film stuck at 8ms, IPS stuck at around 16ms and MVA/PVA stuck at about 12ms. However, with the introduction of overdrive technologies, the more important grey transitions are now significantly improved, and response times of 6ms, 4ms and 2ms G2G are now common place."

Worth reading the parts before that to understand what it's on about.
