x^2 = xy
x^2 - y^2 = xy - y^2
(x-y)(x+y) = y(x-y)           The equation itself constrains values for x and y:
-------------   --------            x-y=0 and 0/0=infinity so this does not prove that x+y=y as both sides are infinite
(x-y)              (x-y)              in value

x+y = y
