Not bad for an entry level Digital SLR.
I just spent a day shooting at a local park. The Camera is awesome .

Edit:it was a bit more but company ended up buying it for me.

Great choice for a starter DSLR.   Now save up big time.  The quality lenses will cost more than the body.

Excellent lens.  Adorama is ok as far as prices are concerned, but check out Dell prior to Christmas time.  Like this thread: http://www.fatwallet.com/forums/message … did=685729

Very nice, the Canal looked really good. I'm in the process now of making a gallery. I'll post it when I get it published online.

Pretty much on the dummy settings right now. (Just learning the camera) You can read the metadata for more info.

You would have to be fucking crazy! Just get the 17-40 f/4L instead. Similar focal range and a fraction of the price. You could also get an EF-S 10-22mm. That's the shiz for ultra wide angle.

Anyway, I would strongly suggest heading over to Photography On The Net. Click on the button that says 'FORUM'. It is a Canon forum with somewhere like 100,000 members! Just be careful in the lens subforum... it may eat your cradit card.

For what its worth, I also suggest getting the 50mm 1.8. It is a great low light tool and costs next to nothing.

I have a rebel Xt and the 24-105 f/4L... yes, it does cost more than the camera body. After a quick look, your shots aren't too bad. Did you use photoshop for post processing?

Anyway, mcminty thanks you for buying a real camera.

Any of the Canon EF 70-200 L series. You have an F/4, F/2.8 and then the option of image stabilisation on either. For a telephoto, I would NOT reccomend the EF 75-300 lenses. Mine is pretty bad, and I only have it because I got it in the kit. Sigma also make an ok 70-200 2.8

The canon 70-200's will cost a bit (although the 70-200 f/4 is the best value L lens and one of the sharpest), but you do get what you pay for.

You should have a look at this website, http://www.bhphotovideo.com/ for buying stuff. I would... but I don't live in america. I have to get it at full price from the local camera store.

Also check out www.the-digital-picture.com , for some pretty good Canon lens reviews. I think nearly every single canon lens it tested (also some sigma and tamron).

You must remember that I am pointing out the more expensive lenses. There are cheaper ones, but they do have some compromises. Anyway, it is good that you are enjoying the camera. PM me if you have any specific questions.

I'd really love to hear (or see rather) your review on that camera, doesn't matter how much you know or don't know about photography. I have a Rebel XT that I use for a dummy camera (for instance if I had to get a shot of a bull charging this is the camera I'd put in front of it) & was thinking of upgrading to the XTi for the extra resoultion.

For wide-angle I'd recommend both the 10-22 & the 16-35Lmm for different reasons. On that sensor the 10-22 is really one of the only "true" wide lenses you can get but the 16-35 is sharper & performs better in lower light conditions. For the record though in my personal experience I've only sold one shot taken with my 16-35 while I've sold countless shots with the 10-22 for what it matters...

Tele there is only 2 lenses worth your money, the 70-200L f/2.8 & the godly 300mm f/2.8. I don't personally own the 300 2.8 but have used it & it's the kind of lens that'll get you hard seriously it's sick.
Again going on my personal experiences, roughly 50% of the shots I sell are taken with my 70-200mm f/2.8IS with or without a 2x converter.

Also I second the recommendation for the 50mm 1.8, it's just too fun not to have plus it's kind of a standard for learning.

Hopefully I might be able to offer some useful advice in this situation since it's usually reversed & your telling me stuff

Also I again second Mr. McMinty's advice on this: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/
I've spent well over $10,000 since I really started to take photography seriously & I absolutely, positivelt LOVE B&H. They have customer service that completely humiliate's every other customer service in the world & because I use them exclusively they've given me free shipping FOR LIFE & if I order a good bit of stuff they'll give me some of the smaller things for free. They've even called me after I got stuff to make sure I was happy with it & that = win.

Just to give you fair warning though it's even easier to sink money on this stuff than it is to sink money on computers & anytime you can I would recommend that you buy actual Canon lenses & accessories.

Anything I can do just lemme know. Nice pics too, gonna go have a look around now.

@ mcminty: do you have a gallery up anywhere?
my failure of a website is here: www.MagikXImaging.com but I haven't done anything to it in forever so there's nothing there. Will try to get it up this weekend though. I have some stuff at deviantArt too under the name "MagikTrik" (of course): http://magiktrik.deviantart.com/ but that hasn't been updated since dA changed their look the last time.

Nope. I occasionally post my stuff at POTN (from above), but I have no online gallery. I should start looking around for one.

Since that thread was closed may I ask what kind of lens and settings you used for those .

Also, I am considering this lens http://www.amazon.com/Canon-70-300mm-4- … lectronics . Just as an entry telephoto. The price doesn't seem bad considering the range and it has IS/AF.

Lol at Nikon...

As for the 70-300, I'd head over to this website... FM Reviews. Find it in the 'canon zoom lens review' section. Canon Zoom Lenses.. I'd compare this lens against the 70-200 f4L.

As for me, I'm saving that bit more and getting the 70-200 2.8L. Hell, it's more expensive but it does deliver the results.

Oh, today I got the 50mm 1.8. Cheap lens, but it's pretty good.
