I have no doubt that they're a potent military force. But think about it:Commie Killer wrote:

Once country (Israel)
vs.
Syria
Lebanon (well, hezbollah)
PLO
Jordan
Iran
al-Qaeda
A powerful military force can trump multiple weaker military forces. But they aren't necessarily good at stopping terrorist attacks. Just look at Iraq. Now imagine all those suicide bombings ten-fold in Israel, coming from different countries, different organizations, different cells.
edit: I have no idea if Jordan and Syria would fight Israel, but I wouldn't be surprised

Lets not forget Israel does not have nukes...lol

Hey! That's a very good point that has been missed by just about everyone! Does this mean that Israel have given up on their 'nuclear ambiguity' stance?Kmarion wrote:

isreal attack first ? Very bad idea. However if isreal feels the need to get the party started early....
Well pretty much the entire Mid East has tried to kill Israel and that ended up in Israel kicking ass. Anyways since that wall as been put up(cant remember name) suicide bombings are very rare.Hurricane wrote:

Relax man, Emperor helen aint going to involve us in anything. And mate try filling a fucking falcon at the pump. If gas hadnt come down recently I woulda been queing up for a rifle and a ticket to the M.E.Pubic wrote:
I hope they never have to use those plans. Realisticly, it'd start a world war and I sure as hell don't want to be drafted and sent overseas to fight in some bloody nuclear wasteland so someone can fill their car for a few dollars less.
But on a serious note, the only thing that has kept Israel (relatively) safe is the fact that its the only country in the region with nukes. Given the support & "advisors" Iran threw into the recent conflict, it would be crazy for Israel to not seriously consider eliminating the Iranian nuclear facilities.
And I feel a whole lot more comfortable with Israel than with Iran thank you very much.
It'd be bad, but I'm sure the Israelis have been through tougher stuff. We're talking about the country that repulsed mass Arab invasions over 3 times, so just suicide bombs would not take them down. Now if the nations threw their entire force into Israel and coordinated them properly, then Israel might be in a problem spot. I'm sure the US would intervene at that point, though.Hurricane wrote:

What size/range is Israel nuclear arsenal? And who's bright idea was to give nukes to them in the first place???

When an article starts "(Someone) has drawn up secret plans" you know it's bullshit-scaremongering. Honestly, how secret can plans be when they are published in the news?
So they have them on lay-a-way with the US, or what? Whats the low-yield bunker busting nukes the article is talking about?Kmarion wrote:

Who said anything about nukes anyway ?
It was a joke. They have never publicly proclaimed to have them.EVieira wrote:

I don't buy the article for the record. It has a little something to do with zero evidence or proof. Read through it and you will see there is nothing hard there.
(I'm not talking about the plans Israel does or does not have, but rather the articles claim of them having obtained a secret report.)

Helen did send teams to Iraq and Afghanistan...mostly reconstruction granted, but the Iraq team (and to a lesser extent the Afghanistan team) is there to score political points with a certain nation she wants to score free trade with...
I'd like to address some comments made by various posters.
When government plans of this ilk are 'leaked' to the public it is almost always a delberate act sanctioned by that government. Israel are just posturing and talking tough without formally admitting that they have nuclear weapons. It's as old as the hills - governments 'leak' information to the public and then act all shocked that it has come out and deny the allegations, the purpose of which is to get across a particular message in a circuitous and subtle manner.

Exactly. You'd have to be pretty fucking stupid to allow something like that to get leaked.jonsimon wrote:

Actually it doesn't matter if the article is based on evidence or not, making plans is quite normal. Its quite probable that Israel has plans to attack these facilities, whether with nukes or not.

The tactical nuke they would use would be of the type that penetrates under the ground and then detonate. That is the difference. If Israel were to try and take out Irans "Hardned bunkers" that is what they would most likely have to use. Iran knows this and knows this would open up the "they used nukes first discussion". There is a big difference between tactical nukes and detonoting a nuke above a city.
