Just curious, as I have Norton Internet Security 2005 and Webroot Spy Sweeper.  I think one or both of these is really sucking up my system resources.  I am considering going to NOD32 for anti-vrus as people seem to likr it alot and it does not supposedly hog resources, but  I have not heard any direct opnions on it.  I looked at CNET reviews, but I swear it looks like they get $$$$$ from Symantec to give their products top reviews.

Any thoughts or opinions would be greatly appreciated.

LOL.

If you want antispyware that works, download Microsoft's Antispy. It, unlike Adaware and spybot, will actually remove malware from your system.

For anti-virus, go with Norton. McAfee doesn't come close.

It's Norton, that "eats" your ressources. Well known problem.

I'm using Norman Virus Control and Ad-Aware Pro. The integrated Ad-Watch On Access Scanner (It's missing in the Personal Edition) is very helpful, while surfing on more or less unsafe sites. Especially for Hijackers, that are a pain in the ass, if u have catched one.

I can tell you that when i had norton and adaware, on my system i got fcked over by spyware and viruses.
The system i've got now is far more secure, i personally went and bought mcafee security suite 2005 and spent a well deserved £50 on it and then downloaded spybot search and destroy from net. Mcafee is probably the best out there and is used by a lot of corporate networks and business' that need to have secure network connections.

Another good thing is that it has no subriscription so you don't need to buy a new one every year, as it just updates with the new version ( mine has been upgraded to 2006 version now )

As for spybot search and destroy, its the best piece of free software out there and has loads of recomendations from magazines, websites etc... just run it once a week (only takes 5 mins) and if you have any spyware it will find it.
And believe me if your running internet explorer, it WILL find something everytime, if you are running IE switch to mozilla firefox straight away, best thing i ever did.

Hope this helps.

I used Norton Systemworks for a long time, until one day I found I coudn't update because it suddenly decided I had a BETA version! Now have Zonealarm and AVG a/v, and find I have about 10 less processes running. Use Ad-aware and can strongly recommend  ewido anti-malware.

if you look a stupid websites - weather it be porn, gaming etc whatever ur asking for trouble.. jus go to sites you, you trust.. turn off the windows messenging service and sit behind a good router/hardware firewall and use firefox with adblock...

If your behaivour on the internet is good, then so will your computer - look at pop up sites etc, then your asking for trouble..

I use my router, norton 2006 antivirus, and windows firewall - easy, simple and works.

I resent Microsoft, they GIVE more ad and spyware than remove it. I could try it, but spybot and adaware removes the crap as well. Just don't trust effing Microsoft.

Its true NOD 32 will use way less resources then Nortons. Also will do a system scan in half the time. NOD 32 has been proven to be the first anti virus software to detect new viruses FIRST before any other anti virus software. It has also been proven to be the BEST. Try using NOD 32 with Zone alarm firewall. Yes zone alarm takes a while to load but what firewall software doesn't.
Also Spysweeper is a good spyware detection/removal tool. It is recommended that people should use more then one spyware detection software. Unlike your anti virus you can use 2 differant software programs to find spywre/adware on your system with out conflicts. And YES you will see that not one spyware software program will find ALL your spyware on your system..run a different program and it will detect things spysweeper did not.
