Why would it do this? my friend loads to 62%, then crashes. any ideas?

I have the same problem just built a new pc. It crashes to desktop when the load progress bar gets to 62%. Hope someone can help.
At 62% it loads all the geometry of the map, so maybe your comp cant handle it? Try turning ur setting down.
If you're not sure about what your PC can handle, just work it out .....
Try lower settings and go single player, if its OK change it a wee bit higher and so on until you find a golden middle. I know it can take some time but thats what i did with my laptop and its going fine.
But still my best scores are on my PC, its sad but it makes a real difference what computer your playing.

First, right click on your bf2 desktop icon. Go to "Properties" then over to the "Shortcut" tab. In the "Target" line, change "+fullscreen 1" to "+fullscreen 0" EA tech support told me this will hide any error messages that pop up.
After you know what your error message looks like, head over here:

well my friend has the problem, his computer can handle it, he has 2 7600's in SLI, but he repatched and it worked. Thanks for the help
