Why go to school? You already know everything anyway, don't you?
the whole point of going to school is to learn things that which we do not know or understand, yes, BUT....the other aspect of school is to learn to think critically and analytically....if we were forced to listen and believe everything we learn in school then it is not knowledge, it is actually propaganda, due to the one sidedness of the opinion.

If a teacher tells you a religion is incorrect isn't that preaching?

This "awesome teacher" discussion makes me miss my old maths teacher, she was hot. I remember I'd love it when she wrote on the blackboard and stretched out in all angles. I bet Kama Surta keeps no secrets from her. I also had her in P.E. She really got my adrenaline up

Im agnostic. not a fan of organized religeon at all. Don't believe in the bible. BUT...If I had a teacher said that, even I'd get a little pissed.  Like I said I am agnostic.  But I will never say any religeon is wrong until I can prove it.  Pissing on someone's faith, as a teacher, in a class, is fucked up, and could get her shit canned I believe.

What a complete dipshit.

So she called the bible silly. If she didn't explain why, then ask her. If she did, then prove her wrong. Taking offence at a statement and being biased (far far far left??*) is not the christian way to go about.

* btw is that wrong? proof plz

I'm happy with her lack of political correctness. A good teacher makes you think.

Eh, you need to learn about religion in school, but not learn religion in school.
Absolutely correct.  Fine learn about it, but no school should impose religious beliefs on its children, give the poor kids a choice in the matter.

Thats what didn't happen in my school.  My R.E. (Religious Education) teacher was so hell bent on turning all of the pupils into God fearing zombies.  And I, who opposed ALL religion with good reason, was tortured by her throughout my school life because I was a "blasphemous little bastard."

And this was just in the late 90's.
Somewhere, something incredible is waiting to be known.

You should be like, "Excuse me.  I'm not saying anything about your relgion, so please don't call the Holy Book of my religion silly."  Thats polite.  How can she say anything back to that?

If this is highschool we're talking about then she should refrain from making any kind of statement as the the value a given religion.

If this is college or university, welcome to the grown up world of education.  If your looking for any kind of religious affirmation, you're in the wrong class, and probably the wrong school.
